Hi, my husband of 38 years has been in hospital for over two weeks,  diagnosed a week ago with DLBC, stage 4.  I am not allowed to visit or see him which has been really tough with the frequent crises to do with his heart, chest infection etc.  He has done 1 cycle of R-chop so far.

Discharge due today cancelled.

Feel as if I have got stuck in a parallel awful universe where nothing is solid.

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to read that your husband has been in hospital for over two weeks now and his planned discharge today has not happened. Having to deal with cancer is tough at the best of times but the pandemic has added extra stress to an already stressful situation.

I can see that you've already joined the DLBCL group and I'm sure that when you feel ready to post there you will find it a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.

Can I also suggest that you might like to join the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your emotions with others who have a loved one living with cancer. If you'd like to join this group just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute it would be great if you could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
