Hey there

My name is Mike, I'm a business owner based in Devon England.

A few weeks back I felt a lump on my left testicle and sure enough, it was diagnosed to be cancer.

On Thursday 8th April 2021 I had an orchidectomy and my left testicle was removed. Currently I'm resting and getting over the surgery and gnarly scar on my abdomen.

I don't really think I've fully accepted I've "got" cancer or lost a part of my body. Maybe still a little bit in shock. I happened to have my cancer looked at so quickly because I also went into hospital following a kidney rupture!

My biggest fears are:

  • How long my treatment and care and recovery will keep me from being fit and healthy. I like to exercise and work out, so I'm afraid how long it'll be before I can get back to that
  • How I'll have to change my business and my team, to continue earning and making money while I'm unable to work

Thanks for reading, I'd love to hear more about how other people have dealt with the sudden change.
