My husband after many investigations is presumed to have non small cell lung cancer. He had 2 lung biopsies and both showed primary is in the colon. Colonoscopy showed no cancer. Had pet scan and CT pelvis, CT thorax and abdomen. All scans were normal except the lungs. He had an endoscopy which was normal as well. They are now regarding him as unknown primary and started him on chemotherapy and immunotherapy. He is having Pemetrexed and Carboplatin as chemo and Pembrolizumab as immunotherapy.. He started his first treatment on 1st April.
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community
I didn't have the same type of cancer as your husband but I do know what a worrying and stressful time it can be waiting for test results and being given a cancer diagnosis.
The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the unknown primary cancer and secondary lung cancer groups. These will be great places to ask questions and share experiences about your husband's cancer and treatment.
In case I've misread your post and your husband also has primary lung cancer then this is a link to the primary lung cancer group.
To get support for yourself you might like to consider joining the carers only group which is a safe and supportive place to discuss your emotions.
To join any or all of these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
