Where to begin! Mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in July 2020.I am normally strong, focused and everyone's strength, I get that from her! With the Covid trauma of last year, I have had to be distant from Mum, so couldn't be there through lots of her treatment. She is married but my stepfather is someone who I do not particularly get on with. I could go on about all the ins and outs but thought it was important to get to the crux of my initial statement. I feel really scared, panicked and on edge all the time and cry at drop of hat! Only my husband recognises my true feelings, anyone out there who can identify with me?

  • Hi and a warm welcome to the online community

I'm really sorry to read that your mum was diagnosed with ovarian cancer last year and it's not surprising that you feel as you do.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the family and friends group which is a safe and supportive place to share your worries and emotions.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
