Hi everyone.
I was diagnosed with a 14mm Ducal carcinoma in situ in February which was removed mid March. Lymph nodes are clear and the margins around the lump were also clear, but the tumour is grade 3. I’m waiting to hear from an oncologist this week with a plan for chemo. I’m a third year student midwife and was due to qualify in august so this has affected me more than the diagnosis itself.
Probably sounds a bit crazy but after managing to get through a pandemic during training I feel like this is a real kick in the teeth.
I have no idea how long or how many cycles of chemo I will need but I’m just wondering if anyone is dealing with a similar diagnosis?
I am also a little worried as I suffer with chronic eczema and I keep reading that skin is often affected by the medication.
I have three young kiddies and a supportive husband so lucky in this aspect.
Any offers of advice welcomed!
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've been recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and, although I didn't have the same type of cancer as you, I know how it can mess up your plans.
I can see that you've already joined and posted in the breast cancer group and I'm sure that you'll find it's a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
While you're waiting for replies to your post in the breast cancer group it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

Thank you! I was finding it quite hard to navigate the site actually and lost my previous post. I’ve added a profile pic and about me so hopefully I’ll get some more responses thanks again xx
Hi
Yes, the site can be a little difficult to navigate initially but I'm sure you'll soon find your way around.
To quickly get back to anything you've previously posted, clicking on your username or profile picture will take you to your profile page. The choose 'activity' and your most recent activity will appear at the top. To load all your activity scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and this will cause all your activity to load.
I hope this helps
Ahhhh ok, I’m not sure I would have worked that out so definitely helpful! Thanks again xx
