...I was diagnosed with bc, erc+ on 18th December and consultant said lumpectomy, radiotherapy, letrozole and zoledronic infusions. Op was on 12th Jan and was told results on 1st Feb,all cancer removed, not spread lymph nodes and clear margins but there was a very, very small other lump behind original lump so was now borderline chemotherapy. Appt was made with oncologist for 3 days later, attended very younman who explained that using algorithm tool there was only a 3% less chance of cancer coming back going through chemotherapy and considering side effects(and covid) I opted for radiotherapy. Then you g oncologist mentioned oncotype dx test, just for clarification, so I opted for that and was told results would be back in 3 weeks. 4 weeks later I'd heard nothing so called my bc nurse who kicked tngs into action and finally got my results 6 weeks later because young oncologist had not sent them away so obviously had to be sent off. Result was at lower end of the scale(wasnt given actual score, oncologist (senior this time) seemed to think that way forward was still radiotherapy. I'd already started letrozole day after1st oncology appt and have had 1 zoledronic infusion and today I've myadiotherapy planning appt, at last, and hoping it'll start next week sometime. Meantime my mind is in overdrive and I'm just about out of my mind with worry that my cancer might now have spread and, for some reason, its gone to my pancreas and i am continuously checking symptoms on cancer sites.
Sorry for long post but I had been doing so well, mentally, until last week.
I know nobody can actually reassure me that everything will be ok but any similar stories or help would be gratefully accepted.
Thank you
