HI Everyone - I have already had EC and Paclitaxel summer 2020, followed by 2 surgeries and 4 weeks of radiation (finished 2 weeks ago) - started Capecitabine yesterday - planned 8 cycles.  I have 3 doses and already feel crappy.  Any helpful tips or hints?  I try to keep as positive as possible and as I'm furloughed, I can rest up when I feel I need it. many thanks Lynne

  • Hi Lynne  and warm welcome to the Macmillan Online Community although sorry that you had to find us.

A cancer diagnosis and treatment journey brings many questions but talking with others who are walking the same type of cancer treatment journey will help you navigate this challenging time.

These treatments are used for a number of cancers types and you don’t mention your cancer type but the Online Community is organised into various support groups and this is list is for our Cancer specific groups so have a look through the list, find your cancer type. To join a group just choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the cancer type you want to join.

You can then introduce yourself by putting up a ‘New Thread’ or hit the box with the X on the top right (phones), you could just copy and paste the text from this your first post. You can also join in with existing ‘Discussions’ by clicking on 'reply'.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear.

Most services are open 8am to 8pm, 7 days a week and it's free to call on 0808 808 00 00 have a look by Clicking here to see what is available and we also have our Ask an Expert section, but do allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers can be found on our Online Information and Support Section

Hi, thank you for your message - I have TNBC and have already found the online chat for breast cancer.  I was also lucky to have a telephone buddy from Macmillan  - that helped immensely.  I have just got a new computer - so finding it easier to get online to chat for help. kindest regards Lynne

  • Good to hear you have connected with a telephone buddy - all the very best with your treatment journey ((hugs))
