Hi everyone,
Here's the new thread for October.
Hi Lee, I'd say that I'm fully recovered and eating well, back to normal. I did lose a lot of weight in 4 or 5 days because I had so much diarrhoea. I did the right thing and didn't eat for 24 hours, then I ate and had diarrhea again!
Mrs Tvman is still having pooing problems, either it's not happening or she's making 5 trips in half an hour so going anywhere is fraught with danger. We're going to our daughter's just outside Peterborough for Halloween. Over here in Northern Ireland Halloween has always been a big event and I think it's catching on more in GB now but whereas Guy Fawkes day is celebrated in GB, we don't celebrate that at all. Thanks for asking Lee.
I've got my garlic to plant and shallots and onion sets as well, I just have to clear a bed first. I bought the garlic bulbs from a seeds company this year, last year I bought from a bloke on eBay and I was sent a handful of cloves that could have come from buying in a supermarket. No authenticity at all. The results were very poor, worst harvest I've had in 35 years of growing garlic.

Hi Angie, doesn't Lilly look so content and lovely. I miss not having a cat but there's no one who could look after a cat if we go away. Now we've no dog either for the same reason.
Aw Angie, you're having a bad time with your bloods being low. Surely you can't go on having bags of blood every week, is there anything else they can do for you?
You know that I have a similar problem with my bloods, as well as low haemoglobin my white cells, neutrophils and platelets are also low but I suspect my haemoglobin isn't as low as yours. When I first collapsed because it was 82, I heard the nursing staff discussing whether to give me blood but because I have haemochromatosis as well therefore my iron (ferritin) is high, they decided against it.
Hope you can get sorted sometime soon Angie.

Hiya Tvman, my Haemoglobin were 74 and all the rest has tanked as well. No wonder I could not walk and was very, very short of breath. They are investigating if the cancer has gone into my bones/bone marrow. It is one step forward and 2 back at present. So good to hear you and Mrs Tvman are doing ok. Have a cosy evening and keep warm. It is cold here and thankfully my log burner is doing his job Warm hug and love to you all from

Evening Lee, Lilly has been my faithful little companion since she was a kitten 13 years ago. I am following with delight the story of your birds. They sound right characters. Hope you can broker some sort of peace. Stay warm and cosy. Love

You may get a sample of bone marrow taken which some people say is very painful because the needle for taking a sample has to go through your skin and flesh then into the hip bone where the bone marrow is located. I thought it wasn't too bad, I've had a few injections in my wrist before I had an operation to cure my carpel tunnel syndrome in my left hand. They were much more painful I'd say. My right hand has carpel tunnel syndrome but nobody's coming near my wrist with a needle! The GP who put the needle in used to say that the other injection that is so painful is one into the back of the heel. He also said that giving me an injection didn't hurt him, only the patients!
I once asked one of my female haemotologists in the Ulster Hospital if my bone marrow cancer can spread around my body and she replied that it can't leave the bone marrow. She saw that I was very concerned and got out of her seat to come round to me to give me a big hug! She used to do that regularly. Lovely woman she was, retired now unfortunately.
Hello!
I am back on forum as I am locked out of my old one. I have lost my previous posts and friends etc. Hope MacMillan can sort something out eventually.
Angie Sorry to hear you are in hospital gain. Really hope they can sort some thing out for you soon. Winston is staying with my parents as we are still on holiday. He seems to get on with the other cat well. No peeing incidence yet.
Mr Tvman Glad to hear you are feeling better and gaining some weight back.
We had a lovely time in Istanbul but had record breaking rain fall. Food was fabulous and historical sites very interesting too.
We are on the cruise now and enjoying eating more delicious food.
How is everyone doing? Any update on Eddie?
Stella x
Hi Stella2020UK
Glad that some sort of normal service has resumed...
I have seen other comments about a flaky service over the last couple of days, and I do wonder if being "mobile" might be an issue?
Sounds like you are having a blast! Hope the cruise is going well - I must say I have not yet been tempted to take a cruise even though OH wants to and friends are always on them - I remain to be convinced....
Hope the rain in Istanbul didn't detract too much? I do love the Turkish cuisine - and the people - and have spent many happy holidays in Kalkan.
I am off up north to Perthshire this coming week for a short break to see the grandkids (once they get back from Sicily - alright for some!) then back home for my planning scan and tattoos......
Enjoy the rest of the cruise - hope the gremlins disappear!
All the best
Stay positive, be strong
KrisPy
Have a lovely stay up north KrisPy. I am hopefully also going to have SABR when back home. We probably will have them at the same time! X
Hi Stella, the holiday sounds wonderful. 4 weeks until my cruise, I cannot wait!
Unfortunately I have not heard anything from Eddie, he has gone quiet again. X
Hello Chelle (chellesimo )
I was reading Gill's post yesterday on the "Awake" thread in the Cancer Chat Group and although Eddie has been in hospital for a number of weeks there is an improvement in his condition this week.
Kind regards - Brian.
