Hi Lee Leelaloo , yes Casablanca will grow well in the UK. It's a hardneck variety rather than a softneck, there are a couple of differences. Hardneck varieties will store for 4 to 6 months whereas softneck varieties can store for up to a year. Also, hardneck varieties most likely will produce a flower scape from the centre of the bulb. It's a straight thin stick-like shoot at the top of which is a flower. If you see that forming it's best to remove it otherwise the bulb will not store well. Once the flower scape is removed you can cut it up and use it in a stir-fry.
There's an excellent article on how to grow garlic on the RHS website,
www.rhs.org.uk and search for 'how to grow garlic'

Hi Eddie
If you are going through Cambridge again, let me know, maybe we can meet up x
Hi Stella I would have let you know, but Sheila only decided to go to Cambridge a few hours before we went, I think that awful stabbing on the Doncaster to London train made her wary of travelling by train.
I was sorry to read about your small rise in tumour size, but glad your treatment is still working, I saw my oncologist on Tuesday, my cancer is now in my left femur. right rib, and almost certainly my left lung, but the tumours in my spine have shrunk, so a little positive.
love Eddie xx
Oh Eddie, I am so sorry about your cancer spreading. How are you managing with them? Are you in much discomfort?
How are the twins? And the rest of your family? What is your Christmas plan? Xx
Morning Stella, I'm so so my friend, I have an appointment with a pain specialist, to see if there's anything I can take that won't mess with my heart, and the twins and all the family are well, even my auntie who lives locally, she had a stroke, ischemic, and the meds have worked really well, with no haemorrhaging so she's almost 100%.
Christmas plans are anyone's guess as I have my aunties from Scotland staying with me .
love Eddie xx
