Whatever we can plan, do and enjoy, it gets us away from our day-to-day routine. Whether near or far, let's share our experiences, snapshots etc. How did we manage? Insurance? Help at home and abroad...
I don't like cruises or I should say cruises don't like me. I get so seasick even on the Med. We went to South Africa when I was little twice on an ocean liner and I was seasick the whole time according to my Mom. Perhaps it is a psychological thing for me. I would like to do a Fjord cruise Jon my husband would love it. Your Christmas trip sounds brilliant Chelle, how is your tooth?

Hi Leelaloo what a shame you get sea sick. I have been very lucky not to get sick, even though there have been a couple of rough crossings. The tooth is easing thank you for asking. I think my other half is getting fed up of listening to me going on about it.
Well, I am thinking my next big goal to work towards.
Next year I would like to visit Costa Rica as they have such colourful birds. It was always on my list to visit. However, Craig is not that keen for me to go there. It is a very mountainous country so it is not like safari in Africa where i am get driven around - no real physical work. I think I need somehow improve my strength and stamina, so I can demonstrate that I can go for walks for 2 -4 hours on hilly terrains. I am not going to walk every day, maybe one every 3 days with rests in between.
Any ideas on how to improve my physical health? Or should I stick with safari which is totally wonderful and I could go back to Zambia or a different country.

Well, it is great to have goals, whether you achieve them or not. Why not build up stamina and see if you are strong enough when the time comes? You can always fall back on other options if it proves to be too strenuous. Good luck anyway.

I have booked a session with my physio next week and see what exercises she suggests. At least the holiday dream will spur me on do more exercise.
Where are you going to visit for your month in Thailand?
Stella I have always wanted to go to Borneo to see the orangutans in their natural habitat. The flight is so long my back would never survive. I hear Madagascar has some fabulous bird life and not as hilly as Costa Rica. The world is such a big place wouldnt it be lovely it we could time travel.
I always wanted to visit Madagascar but it is just too under developed for me. It would be too much travel to JBurg if there is a medical emergency. I think that will be a dream for me.
How are you feeling today? Are you Ok to travel ?
