Yesterday I had my first immunotherapy/chemo treatment. Everyone was wonderful and the experience so far has not been a tenth of the scarey stuff I expected. I am now rightly or wrongly feeling a lot more positive (as a few of you mentioned I would). The one phrase that has really stuck in my mind was " Remember you are not dying of cancer, you are living with cancer". Possibly said to hundreds before me but I found it a comforting statement. Next treatment in 3 weeks. I have started my journey.
Thank you for all the support here and I wish all of you the very best.

Hi JD, Good for you, recognising that so early in your treatment. Most people take a very long time to think like that. I hope your treatment carry’s on and works its magic for you as it has for others before. Forget the past, this is just the beginning for you!

Hi JD yes that was said to me too or I read it somewhere and it has always stuck in my mind. We have to live and make the best of each day and find positives in every day. I am so glad that your first treatment went well, that is definitely a positive. Hope you have a good weekend. Big hugs.

Hi JD, glad the treatment has started. Do not beat yourself up about spending extra time in bed. It is your bodies way of telling you, you need to rest. Sleep is also a good medicine.
Still feeling grotty. Felt great day after treatment but now not so good at all and so very tired hope it soon picks up again xx
