Good morning all
Just setting up a new chat thread for July. If you would like to catch up on June's chat you can click here. Please note that it's now locked, so you won’t be able to reply to that thread.
The chit chat thread is for:
Daily Life chit chat for bloods, scans, appointments, going shopping, cutting grass, reading, watching some thing decent on TV - whatever your day has in store for you. That is daily life!
Thank you for the great advice my friend, we're still very early in the planning, but setting off from Cairnryan is favourite, I initially hoped one or two family members would come, but I have some very close friends who we've been hoping to get away together, and that looks favourite, so a few sunny day, wet day choices, we all love nature, culture, the arts, and good food, and excuse my ignorance, but are there places to avoid.

Awww Chelle it's done in a relaxed manner with a good break half way through, and you will learn some way to help your memory, it won't be quick, and you'll never get back all you've lost, but it's definitely worth it for most who do the course, it seems like concentration, which is/was the biggest problem to most of us, is likely yours as well, and everything you described is very familiar to me, as is the frustration that goes with it, but understanding your condition is half the battle, and over a year on from doing the course, the memory training, and developing routines, things are so much better, not perfect by a long way, and I still occasionally have days where my memory is awful, but I would recommend the course to everyone.

Hi again Eddie
I meant to say to you in the previous message that I'll reply to your recent questions probably on Friday as Mrs Tvman, my son and I are heading to Dundalk in the Republic of Ireland this morning for most of the day. He starts a new job down there soon and we're going to look for accommodation later today.
Tvman x
Morning Tvman, I remember you talking about your sons new job, and then possibility of him moving home, somewhere much closer to home, wonderful, and have a lovely day in Dundalk, and we're not going to Ulster for at least a month, so no rush regarding holiday advice.

Morning everyone. Well I had the radiotherapy on Tuesday and have been in a great deal of pain since then, took tramadol and morphine. The oncologist yesterday said it would get worse before it gets better so fingers crossed it will get better soon. If it stops the discs from pushing into my spinal cord, it will be worth it. I must admit I have not travelled much in the UK. I have never been to Cornwall, or Scotland (only Edinburgh). When my parents were alive I used to keep all my holiday from work and then we would go to South Africa for 4 weeks every year. We want to hire a camper van and do that trip around the Scottish coastline , its route something or other. It is very hard with four dogs as you have to book a dog sitter a year in advance. Stella when are you off on your big adventure. I hope everyone has a good day x
Lee 2 x
Morning Lee2, it's good to hear you had the radiotherapy, but I'm so sorry it's taken so much out of you, and everything crossed it's the success we all wish for you and your pain eases soon.
The route round Scotland is called the 500, and is fab, but the 500 barely covers half the Scottish coastline, focusing mainly on the Highland region, though I've driven round Scotland many times never in a campervan, but it sounds wonderful, a very good friend of mine has a campervan and did the 500 a couple of weeks ago, so if I can ask her any questions for you, please just ask.

The main thing they planned for was pitching up overnight, she's on the campervan club, I think it's £35 a year, but gives you access to, and information on where to stop and the facilities they offer, often at a reduced price.
She did more touring than just the 500, but did it all in 9 days, from personal experience, be prepared any breakdown, make sure your well stocked and WiFi can be sketchy, so let someone know where you are/going if anything does go wrong, PS I'm just being careful, I've never broken down in Scotland.
