Good afternoon Patrick and Mrs Patrick. Hope you are doing ok in this heat. I am hibernating now until later this evening. Tad too hot for my liking. Supposed to cool down tomorrow, bring it on looking forward to the tennis this afternoon, should be a good match. Do you watch some of the invitation doubles? They are good value for a laugh. Hoping my eldest daughter will manage to come home for a few days middle of August, so we might be able to go and see the Horse trials at Blair Atholl for a day. Always a great day out with a picnic lunch and dinner on the way home in Aviemore. Have a lovely afternoon, love and hugs from

Good afternoon Fleabane. It is another hot day here and I am staying indoors until later this evening. Hope your pets are dealing ok with these temperatures, as yourself of course. Good thunderstorms are needed to clear the air. Have a lovely afternoon indoors or out. Love and hugs from

Hi Angie, our heat wave has gone for the time being, now 23 degrees which is enough for me nowadays. It's unusual for it to get so hot in Scotland isn't it? Thinking back to my childhood, it used to be rare in the rest of the UK too but that was a long time ago. I might watch the tennis later, Amazon has secured the rights this year and I'm not sure if I can watch free of charge or not. Despite all the controversy, I decided to buy The Wild Silence by Raynor Winn and will read a bit in the garden. Have a good day won't you

Good evening
Gosh it is hot in Scotland! Today has not been too warm and Winston is upto mischief again. I think he is a lot happier with lowered temperatures.
I have watched gentleman’s final and it was very good. I think both players are nice young man with good sportsmanship and manners. I shall looking forward to many more matches between them.
How lovely that Eddie has gifted you the lovely painting. Hope he is resting fully and take care of himself.
Hi Ellie, I've seen first hand the damage caused by a direct hit on a house. Was a sub station hit and did the surge wreck your appliances? Or did your house take a direct hit?
The damage I saw was when lightning hit an outside aerial and travelled down the aerial into the TV set and the inside of the TV burst into flames, setting fire to the wooden table below it. Luckily someone had the sense to throw a bucket of water onto the flames. That was one TV I couldn't fix!
From that day on, if there was lightning in the area I pulled the aerial cable out of the back of the set and pulled every plug out of the socket all around the house.

Hi Tvman & Mrs T, yes it was such a shame about the Ladies Singles being such a walkover. I usually don’t mind who wins in the ladies championship but I prefer to see a good game. As you say even one game would have been a lot better.
Angie, Did you watch the Gents Final today? At least it was more evenly matched! With Alcaraz living in Spain he is used to playing in the heat and I believe the Italian goes to Florida to play and get used to the heat. They are rivals but good friends which is great to see! It is meant to cool down tomorrow with some rain too. Yippee!
Love to all Take Care
