  • Treatment - it’s just an annoying thing we have to do . There’s Wimbledon coming up for your  “recovery days” so a great excuse to watch as many matches as possible

No news on my appointment with my surgeon yet …I’m not holding my breath that it will be happening imminently unfortunately. In the meantime I’ve decided I need to shift some belly fat which has snuck on over the past few months. My clothes don’t fit and I’m not happy about it plus it can’t be helping my poor abdomen which has endured 2 major surgeries …. At least the weather is conducive for eating light meals and healthy salads - time for action !!!

  • hi Stella, I hope you are able to increase what you can do, as every little victory gives you such a boost, and thank you, the wedding being local and a lovely sunny day forecast is perfect.

  • Good morning everyone, guess what? I'm still with Mrs Tvman at the Ulster hospital, she's still waiting for see a doctor. That's 12½ hrs we've been waiting, along with many others. She's seen the triage nurse, had blood taken for testing many hours ago, had blood pressure done and now waiting to see a doctor!

My son and his wife are coming from Glasgow later and I've to pick them up at the ferry terminal in Belfast at 5.45 this evening. Hope she has seen a doctor by then lol

    Love life and family.
  • That's terrible, hope you are both out of there soon.

  • A&E - there are no words….it doesn’t work…but we seem to have no option in the current NHS structure..

    Keep us updated

  • Best wishes for your MRI today and CT tomorrow my friend, I will have everything crossed for the best news possible

  • That's dreadful my friend, I do hope their lack of urgency suggests good news,

  • I left the hospital at 6.15 because the staff said she wouldn't be seen probably until maybe 8am. I've managed a couple of hours sleep and have just had a phone call from Mrs Tvman. She said she is waiting for injections to take home from the pharmacy and she'll ring me when they arrive so I can leave to pick her up

  • What an ordeal for you and Mrs! This is horrid. But on the plus side Mrs has been discharged with some injections to take home so hopefully it is not anything too serious.
The state of NHS is very worrying and certainly would put me off visiting A&E.

  • Hi Lucy

I just hope to feel ‘normal’ for a few weeks as a 3 months break is quite common on this regime. But my oncologist is very experienced and was always annoyingly right so I better follow his recommendations.
I have gain lots of weight too esp around the middle area. I think steroids does that to us. I try not to belittle myself for it as I used too if I gain any weight.
Life is hard enough without giving yourself a hard time.
I have found some nice salads recipes to try but always end up eating too much burrata cheese with it. Sweat smile
