Hi Lee
Nice to meet you. Were you from S Africa originally? My husband and I used to go to SA regularly. It is certainly a great place for tourists. We love the wine and steak there xx
Good afternoon Lee and warm greetings from the North East of Scotland. I hope you will enjoy this group as I do. It’s a great place to chat, get advice, encouragement and a good laugh. We all have our ups and downs and this forum is a place where everyone understands. We all have been there at different times. Wishing you and everyone as pleasant a day as possible. No Hospital for me this week as my blood count is too low. Aiming for next Friday.
love Alana and Lilly
Hi Stella my husband and I are from Port Elizabeth which is half way between Cape Town and Durban. I still love the steak and the wine especially . I was born in Liverpool but went to South Africa when I was one so I suppose it makes me a Scouse African .
Lee x my dogs are Teddy, Cody, Nutmeg and Georgie x
I was at Port Elizabeth a few years back. I think there are some elephants reserves near there. I had a brilliant time. Elephants are such magnificent animals. I love their long eyelashes.
How are you doing today? It is cold and crispy here. It is supposed to be a busy day for me.
I have got a living well program starting today at the local hospice. It runs every week for 8weeks so I am looking forward to that. Then I am seeing physio just a relaxing massage.

Good morning folks
I had my consultation with my oncologist last night. He said I am particularly sensitive to chemo agent that is why I have lots of pain associated as all the lining of my guts are bleeding/ breaking down. He talked about a dose reduction. I foolishly declined it and said I am going to tough it out from the next 2 cycles. It is because I will have a CT scan after the next 2 and see how things are.
After another night of pain, I am not sure what to do? I have to stop amitriptyline as it made so drowsy (sleep 20 hours). Feel a bit stuck.
I have got a visit to the local hospice today, maybe I will ask them about it too.
Cold and sunny here so will be going for a walk, no matter what!
Love x
Hi yes there is the Addo Elephant reserve near Port Elizabeth, one of my favourite places to go. We used to stay in a safari hut looking over the waterhole and would BBQ in the evenings just watching the animals come to watering hole. It is cold here today but sun is shining so going to take my dogs to the woods for a walk. Good luck with your living well program. Interesting that you are having a massage. My friend has a treatment spa in my village and she said you couldnt have a massage when having treatment. I do miss my massages. Have a good day everyone xx
Morning everyone, hi Stella, there's a very fine line between being foolish and brave, and I cannot answer for you, if your hospice has a consultant or nurse consultant, I would ask them about your concerns, though when I started my RT, I was offered a very large dose over a wide area, and told there would be signiticant damage to my lower Bowel, rectum and bladder, as chemo and surgery weren't an option, I agreed, and despite all the problems, I would make the same choice again.
I'm glad you've accessed your hospice, I'm not sure if living well, is the same as wellbeing, which I did and it has been a big help, but I hope you find it enjoyable and helpful too, and who doesn't like a massage, sunny and 6C, perfect for a walk.
Eddie xx
Good morning all it’s a lovely sunny day here in Wales so am going to try and make the most of it We have a house viewing on Friday so am going to have to at least put cleaner around and hide all my bits and pieces away
in a cupboard somewhere just hope they don’t go opening things . . I’m not really a walker and as I get short of breath quickly tend to drive somewhere and have a short walk . I’m sorry your appointment was not good Stella I hope you can get some relief for your pains it’s so all consuming and debilitating. I wish you all a good day whatever is in store for you . Xx Chris
