  • I had my first living well session at the hospice this morning. Everyone was very nice and other patients are lovely too. I think maybe I am not ‘terminal’ enough for this program? I had a gentle hand massage, some bike exercise, and lots of talking about my cancer / self.
I find talking about cancer bores me and a waste of my time. But I did spend quite some time giving out dental prevention advice for patients and some for staffs too. At least that made me feel useful for a change. Maybe next time I don’t have to talk about myself again.
Made spicy Mexican chilli for dinner, it is actually a bit foolish given the state of my stomach! Maybe some yogurt will help.

Great to hear from you Lee.
Have a lovely day everyone x

  • Glad  you tried it, and an insight into what is availed. When at other times you made need it or require it.

We try not to use the word Terminal we are incurable, until such times, no treatment is availed.

    Sounds better as well.

I like spicy food i have to say, then perhaps suffer after wards.

Been lovely here, does lift your spirts, i have my music playing and trying to sing along, or as i am told, oh mum   what a noise lol.

  • Hi my friend, and Tracey, I hope I'm ok calling you that, I'm glad too you got my message, and happy to hear your doing ok Lee. My best wishes for next week, and a big thank you to your lovely wife, for keeping us in contact with each other, many of the guys are always asking about you, and I know we are always happy to hear from you, Poppy and I had a nice, if short walk, I hope you did better with Ringo.

  • Hi Stella, first days at these groups, especially at the hospice are more like a meet and greet, people are curious, I'm sure next time will be different, and I know what you mean about not being, treatable, enough, but aren't the other patients amazing, they certainly inspire me.

I have a dental question Stella, ['m 59yo and still have a baby tooth, how unusual is that.

Oh dear, with a tummy like yours, my friend, I'm sure your medical team is delighted you had spicy chilli, Stella I find a dollop of peanut butter in the mix, near the end of cooking helps.

  • Hi everyone I have not posted recently as I have had a (blip) with my treatment but feeling better now. I’m glad to see all the people that I recognise are doing as well as they can be and still participating in the  chat. I’m glad that the bad weather has stopped, a few trees down in my area and I lost a big section of fencing and the snow was awful on the Saturday. I have a scan tomorrow and 2 routine appointments next week. I’m glad to be back in the community. Enjoy your day and stay positive xx

  • Hi Ellie, another long day, Mandy is half way through chemo, will have a scan next week, and just maybe she wont need any more, at least she's managing treatment really well, which is what I hope your daughter and brother are my friend, and of course I will have everything crossed for Monday for you, and hopefully a little good news for me on Tuesday, It was sunny but cold here, my car entertainment system is playing up so the swear words in songs aren't being replaced, was a surprise to me, as i never knew they were in the song to start with, I love a curry, lately it's been my go to when eating out, but not as hot as I used to like.

Sing up Ellie so we can all hear you.

  • Nice to see you back, though sorry you have had a blip, this journey does not go smoothly at times.

We have had two lovely like spring days, the rain was driving me a little mental.

Nights are  drawing out nice, and  spring will, soon be upon us.

I have been busy today   doing a few jobs, I have a busy week next week, and I know nothing will get done..

We always wonder when some one, has not been about if they are ok, and glad you are.

  • Thanks Ellie, I guess we just roll with the ups and downs as best we can. It’s been very cold here but bright through the day which is nice. I am looking forward to the lighter nights because I think that it makes me feel happier to not feel like I’m hibernating!  What are you doing next week or am I being too intrusive? Yes I would wonder the same as you if a name I recognise wasn’t posting. I find that comforting because to me it shows that people here genuinely care. Enjoy your day and stay positive xx

  • Glad your  daughter, is doing well., and I hope gets positive results.

Brother finished  his 7 weeks radiotherapy, though is struggling cannot eat anything not hungry so he says.

Daughter had a procedure last Friday we again wait for results.

I do h appointment Mondain Tuesday and Wednesday, no time for S..t shave or have a hair cut, that is a saying lol.

My music is on from 10am till 4pm music keeps me going.

    I love a curry as well, though a Madras/

Been  lovely here last  two days like spring though cold of an evening..

  • I do think winter time is depressing, i like being in the   garden keeps my mind occupied and hands busy.

I have Brain Radiotherapy next week, some thing different, its the during that gets me down 2 hours each way.

I do get concerned when people do not post, if they are taking a break nice one, just say  then people do not worry, thats what i think.

    Glad your ok now.
