That sounds like a great present! So long as they don't buy you a lego tree too.....that would take some building!

Good day Alana and Lilly
Thank you for your kind words. I think the shock and continuing decline of my condition is wearing me down. I would like to have the condition to improve or stabilise just for a bit and really hope for the same you and everyone on this forum too.
You are a bi lingual guide, what other languages do you speak? Where do you think is most scenic in Scotland?
Do your grandchildren ride horses? Do they live near you?
I used to have Mimi a female cat. She was a proper queen and very demanding and aloof. She never broke anything, or any accident with toilet. She is always clean and dainty. However she only came to us if she wanted something then spend the rest of her time resting on her own. She passed away at 18.
Now we have Winston, he is the complete opposite of Mimi. He is clumsy and regularly broke things, pushes things over. He also has bad toilet habits if he is upset or left alone for too long. He is more like a dog, follows us everywhere. He is very clingy and most upset if we are away for more than 12 hours. Cats are such fun animals.
What books are you currently reading?

They bought themselves a Lego poinsettias plants which looks fairly challenging.
What are you upto today? X
Good afternoon Stella. I speak fluent German due to a German Father. I attended School in Germany until I was 18. Your Winston sounds a character. Lilly is very attached to myself. She loves to cuddle up beside me on my recliner chair. She hates other people including my children and grandchildren. I was amazed that she actually came through to the living room when Eddie was here for Dinner a few weeks back. I used to have 3 cats and 2 dogs but old age has taken them over the years and I am not fit enough to give a dog the exercise it would need now. My middle daughter and husband have 3 boys and live only about 5 minutes away by car. As a bonus she is a nurse, as is my daughter in law. My oldest girl has been living and working in London for a long time and my son and his family (a girl and a boy) live about 20 minutes away from here. I just finished a book called The cat who saved books by Sosuke Natsukawa and started on the Wellington/Bonapart novels by Simon Scarrow. The timeline is sometimes a tad out but they are novels after all. Following that it will be the autobiography of Ruby Walsh (Jokey). Do you like to read too? I find a lot of joy in books. Poetry is another genre I enjoy, but have to be in the right mood for that. Hope your Sunday was a pleasant one.
love Alana and Lilly xx
Hi Stella, Ben Nevis is beautiful, but I went with 3 friends to my aunties in summer to climb it for charity, which they all did, and all in their 60s, but at the top visibility was 10 yards, wind gusts 80mph and -8C, I was so proud of them all.
My auntie and her partner are both 81yo and in very good health, they've been together 62 years and are getting married in spring, and I am best man, fab, Sheila and I are also getting married next year, early summer is planned, but I would love a double wedding, sadly Stella's views on certain marriages, may be a problem.
Are you fom Glasgow, Stella, I'm very fond of it, I can imagine it was a fun place to do your undergraduate course, and let's not think of the horizontal rain, and just grab the chance to go when we can.
My furniture making days are behind me, the only jobs I do are for the local churches, in my carpentry years, we had the contract to build/repair anything wooden inside, and we made quite a few things and everything was guaranteed for 20 years, so the last thing we made still has 10 months of cover. I have only been called out 2 times in 19 years, pretty good.
I hope you and your home got through the storm in one piece, and resting sounds like a wise decision, and great to hear you like cooking, what was it today?, have fun with your Lego, sounds like Winton can be naughty at times, can I ask did you name him after Nicholas Winton?, I'm off dancing at the seniors community hall, I'm a honorary member as I'm too young to be a resident, but I'm the only guy they could find lol.

hospice all morning today, then family to sort a few things out, busy tomorrow, 5 appointments, so will be playing catch-up again Wednesday, take care.

Hi Anndanv
I was only joking about the lego tree! I was a very keen lego builder as a child. My mum, who was a nursery school teacher when I was growing up took all my lego collection to the school one day. I have never forgiven her! Devastated.
Wish I still had it. Much more creative than jigsaws!
My mum is now 93 and doing quite well.
Kate
All this talk on Lego, is a lovely reminder.
Mu 3 children all had Lego for birthdays and Christmas, from being toddlers until they left school.
Never threw it away , and when grandkids starting arriving was passed down, to them now they are all grown up, it is in a blue bag, waiting for their children, its the bag that giving, so much pleasure, even when in adult hood.
