Hi Stella, great to hear mums dinner was a huge success, and she made seconds, it must have been good.
Stella, I'm not very good with technology, so when I got my car 16 months ago, and the infotainment system was set up, he put radio 2 on, and its been on ever since.
That's wonderful you've booked a place for London, is the vase for ornamental or practical purposes, I hope you find what you are looking for, have you ever thought of making your own vases?.
If you add a little milk, sugar or honey to your Mexican, it neutralises the capsaicin, the hot part of the chilli, you can add it after serving as well.
That is so awful for Craig, I'm not really qualified to answer, I only know what I was taught in healthcare, that losing someone close to you, by this way, can bring up feelings of grief and anger, and have you searching your mind for missed signals, or worse, if something you did or said, made things worse, Stella, this is all normal and will pass in time, and anyone who is determined to do this, will, it's a sad irony that the people who need the most help to stop them, are the ones who give no clues they are going to do it, if you are concerned try www.mind.org.uk, as I said I'm not an expert.
Sadly only 1 day in Scotland, home Sunday, I think it's forecast mild with showers, though i will be resting tomorrow, and stocking up with tablet and macaroon bars, and if it's nice will go to Tougal beach, my favourite place in the world.
Have a wonderful time in London, and I hope you find somewhere nice to eat, and please be careful.
Eddie xx
Hi Ulls, Good to see you post! We were ill for a few days after our Covid&Flu jags this time, last year a headache then it was fine.
V got a letter Thursday to tell him to take a urine sample to the practice nurse for testing at least 10 days before his pe op which would be difficult as he goes for that this Monday morning at 9am. Then goes in at 07.30 on Thursday to have op & biopsy then an overnight stay. On Saturday 21st we have arranged a family outing, so hope he is ok to go!
I do feel sorry for the NHS staff who have to work during the Festive Season. If V hadn’t retired in Sept he would have been working Christmas night and New Years night!
Sounds like you’ve got an appointment free Christmas!!
Love Annette x
Hi Angie, I don’t think there is much doubt that you picked up Covid at one of the hospitals you went to! They are the worst places to catch infections! Hope you are feeling better now. Do you have any plans for over the Festive Season?
Stella, Good for you, glad you have booked a night in London. It might be worthwhile getting advice from the Hotel/B&B owners, where best to eat and book it before you go! I’m sure you will enjoy the atmosphere and the lights! When do you go?
Love Annette x
Yesterday went a bit odd, some of the morning and most of the afternoon was wrapping presents, about 4 I felt tired and dizzy so went to bed for a nap, and I've just woke up.
Hi Annette, you seem quite chirpy, I hope V gets sorted.
Hi Eddie thank for your message, I wish the same to you.
Good morning Annette, I am feeling ok apart from tiredness. My oldest girl is coming home for Christmas next Saturday and we will be having our dinners at my other daughter's house as we always do. She has a big dining room to accommodate us all. My Son is away to his In-Laws this year for Christmas Dinner, so we all get together on Boxing Day. All my 5 grandchildren together will be such fun. Are you having family or friends over for Christmas?
love Angie and Lilly xx
Good evening
Alana it sounds lovely with all your children and grandchildren coming together for Christmas. Hope your tiredness improves soon. But rest up and cuddling your kitty in the main time.
Eddie how was today? Did you manage to get to the beach? I have to ask Craig about the macaroon bar. Never heard it before.
Annette hope everything goes smoothly for V ( your partner?)
we had Mexican food delivered from a London restaurant today with friends. it was very delicious and my tummy didn’t hurt! It really lifted my spirits as for a few hours we just talked normal stuff and forgot about c.
My friend said I should not live my life at 3 months blocks ( 3 monthly scan to see whether chemo is working) and make plan for the next year regardless . I talked about I will be a complete nervous wreck for the scan result. She said it is just a data point which the oncologist will use it to decide on the next step. It is not the death sentence day.
it all makes much sense. How does everyone cope with the scan result? what about planning for the future such as summer holiday ideas? Do I dare to dream?
Stella x
Oh Stella
We all deal with the results of our 3 monthly scabs differently.
I have been incurable from day one, and had 3 monthly scans ever since, and March 2o25, unbelievable will be nine years cannot believe it and do not know where the time has gone.
Have a problem now and my question is always, what is the next step.
All the worrying does not change anything, a positive attitude goes a long way.
We are all different and have to get threw this, the best way we can how ever that may be.
Good evening Stella, sounds like you've had a wonderful time in London with your friends, that's lovely to hear, and no upset tummy either fab, your friend is absolutely right about planning ahead, your 3 monthly results will be the same whether you stay indoors worrying, or get on with living and enjoying your life,
my treatment/3 monthly tests are different to yours, my results for the last 5 tests have all shown a decline, which I could have changed meds for, but as I am limited to one type of treatment?, which is only effective for so much time, I have to take risks when changing meds, to get as much quality time as possible, and as I have been living all my life with another terminal condition, and could have died many times, I find it easy to not worry about results.
I am getting married in June, and we are going to the Scilly Isles for 3 weeks in September, absolutely dream my friend, hope is so important for us.
Today, we never got to the beach, cold and wet, but we had a lovely Christmas dinner, and like you, a good day chatting about everything bar C, sadly Stella, macaroon bars aren't sold in England those dastardly Scots keep them all to themselves.
Eddie xx
