  • My go to snack is stilton cheese on crackers, with a pear! The two flavours go really well together.

I usually put mango chutney in my cheddar cheese sandwiches!

  • Hi Stella, good to hear your trip to the hospital went well.

My favourite cheese is Wensleydale, but it has to be made with raw milk and my favourite thing to have with it is frozen grapes, though it makes fab, cheese and chive Yorkshire pudding.

    Blue Wensleydale with pears.

Swaledale Ewe"s milk cheese, toasts fab, on homemade pizza or cheese on toast.

If you can source truffles, truffle honey is easy to make, maybe try thetruffle.co.uk. or buy online from Selfridges, I think.

  • Hi Puddock, I don't want to put you off Stilton, but they say if there are no maggots  in it, it doesn't taste as good, PS plum jam and cheddar sandwiches are great, as is bacon and banana.

    love Eddie xx

  • Yes, I've heard about bacon and banana! Gammon goes well with canned peach slices instead of pineapple....I've not tried these, as I don't eat meat.

I've never come across maggots in stilton, though I do like it fully mature.

Cheddar cheese on ginger nut biscuits is also an interesting experience, though I'm a bit wary of damaging my teeth nowadays, and prefer to dunk my biscuits in tea first!

  • morning Puddock, the maggoty stilton isn't very popular anymore, but I agree pork/bacon goes well with any fruit, PS someone once told me if you put biscuits in the oven for a few minutes it softens them,

balsamic vinegar goes well with ice cream or strawberry's.

    creamy sweetcorn in mashed potato's

    marmite and banana sandwiches

    apple salsa.

  • Marmite and banana is definitely a bite too far! I like both, but not together. I eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches quite often.

All this talk of food! Making me hungry....

  • Hi Puddock, I hate marmite, but the combo with bananas is popular with some friends of mine, not fussed about peanut butter either, but it does make nice biscuits, quick and easy too.

  • Marmite you love it or hate it.

My hubby loved it, i bought it, but could not even take the top of ,lol

  • Hi Ellie, nothing wrong with your taste buds,  no marmite for me thank you, it was nice to hear from Lee, but have noticed you haven't been posting much lately, I hope things are ok for you my friend, I saw my oncologist yesterday their still not certain if my cancer is in my bones, even after 3 scans, hopefully No4 will tell us,

    Eddie xx

  • Hi i have been busy.

Three days on phone from 9am till 4pm not getting to speak to any one.

The reason i got an eye appointment come threw was so pleased, then see the date.

Same  day i have my oncology appointment, so i needed to change it. Was  two different hospitals, my oncologist always runs late, and as its 15th January   might be a bigger clinic .So today I phoned pals, got  an answer quiet quickly, then the lady said she only works Wednesday so i was lucky. She was e  mailing them to send a new appointment for eyes.

The stress has got to me rather be cutting the grass.

Was lovely to see Lec about.

Not sure why we have these scans at times, i was like that when they noticed 3  fractures in my pelvis, done with a routine scan.

I had been gardening and thought i had just hurt myself.

I was told could be cancer in bones or osteoporosis, was the later, all healed, though not lined up, and i do struggle with it.

What with eyes, pelvis, i do start to think what next.

I just get told, well your still here to moan about it mum  lol.
