Morning all, hope you are all keeping well.
Had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday, he authorised another 9 chemo's. But I haven't yet had a scan to see what effect the first round of chemo has had. He said on the basis of questions he's asked me, my responses and the look of the area concerned is a clear indicator that the chemo has had some effect on the tumour. This is positive news right? But still I am mentally unable to accept it and remain pessimistic to safeguard myself. I believe this is because I have no faith and went through such a bad rollercoaster time when they were trying to find a diagnosis. I mean amongst other mishaps they completed a scan and advised me it wasn't cancer I had a bleed. Yeah right, I actually had a 15 cm tumour, how the hells bells do you miss that on a scan huh!! Now when they give me positive news, I struggle to accept it as I'm so scared they'll give me hope but then only take it away again down the line. Does anybody else feel this way?
Food shopping today and I think a cream cake is in order! Hope you all enjoy your day whatever it is you may be doing.
Hi Ochno, walking the dog must have felt wonderful, my dog walks are mostly 5 to 10 mins but so important to me, well there's 3 big ticks to confirming your Scottishness though I think everyone loves Billy, enjoy! the sunshine, no idea what a scorcher is LOL, PS was in Fort William last weekend with friends climbing Ben Nevis for charity, not me, it was minus 7° with 65mph winds near the top, which is how it feels here today

Morning Marie, that's even better watching your grandson karting, with your family, sounds fab to me
Wonderful news from oncologist , I couldn't be happier for you, not surprised you're happy it must have gone better than you could have hoped for, everything crossed your holiday from treatment is a long one, and it's good to know you have a treatment that works waiting for you.
How are your fitness exercises going are things going well. I'm sure your good news will give you a big boost,
My day yesterday was lovely, the instructor will be the stand in, should the new one be off, so will see her occasionally
Reflexology, foot massage is fab, doesn't work for everyone but it does for most, it really does help with aches and pains and is so relaxing, I have a 15 minute session after my full body massage and often doze off and you should find someone to do it at home, PS make sure they are qualified
Weathers ok here warm and sunny but windy, cold wet and gray at Keswick but we're not bothered, plenty of activities at the Spa, though doing nothing sounds nice
Enjoy your music and book, do you still have grandson with you?, and what are you hoping to do over the bank Holiday, hope your going to make the most of your break from treatment and feeling we'll, long may it last
love Eddie xx
Good morning. Yes, great news from oncologist and long may it last. Fitness is going well although I'm still working on the stairs. I saw physiotherapy chappie when I went to hospital. He was saying it's muscle wastage and I'm apt to agree. I have trouble with squats too. If I squat down I'm unable to get back up lol He said to just keep doing and it should get better. I had a look at the reflexology. Looks good. I also stumbled across the Thai chi and was interested. I have CBD oil to try too but was thinking at present I feel so well and not on treatment so have no inclination to try it yet. Weather is not good here. Raining and gloomy. I was going to local high street for a browse but I didn't get much sleep. I had a bad tummy. I've a funny feeling it was the salmon I had for tea. Anyway okay now just feeling a little tender so may just take it easy today. We have busy days ahead so not bothered. Glad to hear you are enjoying your time away. Sounds fab. Are you back home today? Yes, grandson is still with us. Tomorrow we are biking in Sherwood forest, Monday he is at Rutland water on the aqua park and Tuesday a helicopter ride over Chatsworth house. All so exciting! He will return home next weekend. How are you and what plans? Take care and enjoy x
Good morning to you Marie, I know what you mean about squats, I was where you are, I had to roll over on to the sofa arm and push myself up, good now, a couple of exercises that helped me.
When sitting raise and straighten horizontally one leg at a time for 3 seconds.
Put a ball, football sized, again while sitting between your thighs and squeeze for as long as you can
When standing in the kitchen, put something on the floor so one foot is about 5 inches higher than the other, for a couple of minutes
They all strengthen your inner core where much of your strength comes from and can be done anytime.
Reflexology is fab, not tried Thai chi though a couple of friends practice it and love it , I know someone on the forum who does it too, if you would like to hear from them let me know.
Good decision, leave the CBD for now, maybe at another time
I'm sorry you have a bad tummy, hope it passes soon, same weather here and only 11 degrees , wish I'd bought a coat , anyway we will have something to eat in a couple of hours then head home.
It's lovely to hear your grandson is still there with you and fab what you have planned, I hope your joining in too, I'm sure you will and will have lots of fun, and exercise,
I'm ok, still at the Spa, weather not good but will be heading home after lunch, Going to Ladybower tomorrow for dinner and to drop off brother, then onto Shropshire to see son and his family as we are all of to Wales for a couple of days
Have to be home for Thursday as it's heart MOT day, and hopefully a little good news
love Eddie xx
Good morning. I'm sat here laughing about the squats as that's exactly what I have to do. Thank you so much for the exercises they're going to be so helpful. My tummy is fine now thank you. I definitely believe it was something I ate. Glad to hear you had a lovely time at the spa. Isn't ladybower beautiful. I love It there. Enjoy! And then Shropshire and on to Wales. That's awesome. What a lovely time you are having. Today we are heading to Sherwood forest Grandson is mountain biking. I think I will take my bike and have a go. I do love biking and I can't see it will cause me any harm if I take it easy on the flat. I believe we're then going on for a pub lunch. Enjoy your day and take it easy x
Hi Marie, your welcome the exercises are great as you can do them whilst doing other things, the standing with one foot raised, my physiotherapist calls it the kettle exercise as its just long enough to do waiting for the kettle to boil.
Rolling on to sofa arm is funny, I used to laugh at myself trying to get up sometimes, but I did and you will get through it.
Were you the only one to have the salmon and has the tenderness passed.
The Spa was lovely, well worth a visit Marie, beautiful accommodation and views, lots of pampering and close to Keswick
We have booked a table at The Yorkshire Bridge at Ladybower, another recommendation Marie.
Looking forward to taking family to Wales, stopping at Criccieth only for 2 nights but being with them is what matters
Will you be going to the country park at sherwood forest and watching the evening spectacular, a friend asked me to go but had plans,I'm envious again, riding your bike sounds fab,, I'm sure you will have a great time and hopefully a safe time too
Have fun and enjoy, hope you've booked for lunch, and say hi to everyone for me.
love Eddie xx
Good morning. Grandson had a wonderful time biking in Sherwood yesterday. Unfortunately it wasn't a great idea for me. I did take my bike but was stupid to think it was all going to be flat. Whilst on the flat it was great but the hills were really difficult for me. I had some aches and pains but did sleep last night. We didn't see the evening spectacular you was on about. Didn't see anything about it. Called for a cheap and cheerful pub tea on the way home. Today we are heading to Rutland water. Grandson is going to the aqua park. We will be sat somewhere watching lol Will call at Sainsbury's on the way home. Chicken pie for tea. I was the only one to have salmon. My tummy is fine now thank you. The spa sounds awesome. I would love that and glad you enjoyed. I hope you had a lovely meal, I will make a note of the Yorkshire Bridge and thank you for the recommendation. I hope your trip to Wales went safely. Are you there now? How are you feeling today and what plans have you?
