Morning all, hope you are all keeping well.
Had an appointment with my Oncologist yesterday, he authorised another 9 chemo's. But I haven't yet had a scan to see what effect the first round of chemo has had. He said on the basis of questions he's asked me, my responses and the look of the area concerned is a clear indicator that the chemo has had some effect on the tumour. This is positive news right? But still I am mentally unable to accept it and remain pessimistic to safeguard myself. I believe this is because I have no faith and went through such a bad rollercoaster time when they were trying to find a diagnosis. I mean amongst other mishaps they completed a scan and advised me it wasn't cancer I had a bleed. Yeah right, I actually had a 15 cm tumour, how the hells bells do you miss that on a scan huh!! Now when they give me positive news, I struggle to accept it as I'm so scared they'll give me hope but then only take it away again down the line. Does anybody else feel this way?
Food shopping today and I think a cream cake is in order! Hope you all enjoy your day whatever it is you may be doing.
Hi Puddock, having never been on a plane or booked a foreign holiday I left it all to my daughters so I am sure they have factored in everything, though going by the cost their going first class and booked every show and ride, even my bank checked up. maybe i might have gone but Sheila and I are going to Tromso in a couple of weeks and there are enough possible changes coming up without adding to them.

Hi Ochno, so sorry to hear how crappy your feeling, not allowed chemo, Bad heart, but I do recognise the, is it worth it days, which I would guess we all get, absolutely have a word with your oncologist and the nurses at your next chemo, not ready for CBD oil but have a friend who can help when I do, I do hope someone who's had/having chemo will come on and offer advice.
love Eddie xx
Thanks Eddie. I’m so naive when GP recommending the CBD I thought she was talking camomile tea or the like. My husband had to explain to me! It’s all the rage here in Spain it seems. Mushrooms also mentioned, it’s a whole different world. If I have caffinated coffee I feel I’m living dangerously!
Hi Ochno, you are welcome, I'm with you, no idea about these sort of things, never even tried a recreational drug or cigarette, hardly ever drink, I even stick with decaf tea, what a pair we are, I only know about CBD oil as a niece takes it to help with her MS occasionally, and no I have never tried it, Ochno, sounds Scottish, I was born in Oban but have lived in Yorkshire for over 50 years and at this minute driving through Glen Coe to see family in Fort William, Spain sounds fab, heard it's been very hot this year, we are not exactly designed for hot sunny weather, I hope your managing, best wishes with the oncologist and nurses, take care.

A fellow Scot. I’m rumbled Ochno as in Ochno I have the cancer! Enjoy your trip to the motherland. I was supposed to be going over next month but advised not to fly. Texas you shall have to sing without my dulcet backing vocals. I shall keep you posted as to my foray into the world of drugs. Buying from a shop called Joynt just seems so wrong…maybe it will give me Joy!
Good morning. I'm still feeling well thank. Still building on my strength but all in all doing good. Stayed home and pottered yesterday. Usual small jobs around the house, music and audiobook, all good. Grandson is still here and will be all summer. His friend who he hangs out with here is at his dad's so he's not been out. Seems perfectly happy. He has activities coming up and wants to go go karting again. Good to hear hospice went well and good to hear you had better news from the surgeon and your results are good. Ace!! That Florida trip is going to be awesome. Wow what a truly awesome present to your family they're going to have such a good time. Fabulous you're in Scotland. Good luck to your friends climbing and I hope you have the most enjoyable break. It sounds like you're having a most happy time. Long may it last. I'm collecting a parcel from boots today, browsing the local charity shops and on to Sainsbury's for some shopping. Exercise for today. Take care and enjoy your day x
Morning Ochno. Sorry to hear about the chemo and same here. Last round I suffered badly all the way through with tummy and bowel problems and no appetite. Felt terrible. Really drags you down. Oncologist told me it wouldn't work but miraculously here I am sat with a stable, reduced tumour. At the same time I've had no chemo due to a stint in hospital and without it feel marvellous. Difficult decisions huh. I would say get all you can from the oncologist, try everything. Why not? Sometimes taking something new to help creates a new problem but you won't know till you try and there may be something to resolve that anyway. You're doing a grand job and good luck in your decision making process x
Thanks MarieT, I think it’s thrown me so much as side effects have been consistent up until now. She did mention dropping chemo to 80% as starting to get some neuropathy in my hands and feet. Maybe now’s the time to do that, scared it won’t be so effective though. I’ll discuss with her and see what she thinks. Just had a big bowl of porridge, that’ll set me up for the day. You can take the girl out of Scotland. It’ll keep me cosy when it’s 35 degrees out!
Good afternoon Marie, lovely to hear your feeling better and getting a little stronger every day, pottering must feel good when you think of where you were a week ago , your doing amazingly well, Great you have grandson at home. I'm sure he loves being at grandma's and grandads. Hope you had a nice walk to the shops and found some nice things at the charity shops
Hospice and counselling went well, see a different therapist next week but may cancel though seeing him once may be beneficial, fed up feeling fed up so often
Very happy with Mandys surgeon and everything is in place for surgery on Sept 27th, and my results were ok too.
Florida holiday all sorted, and youngest daughter's had her birthday present, so everyone is happy which makes me happy too .
It is nice to be back in Scotland though only till Sunday, I may be in for some stick when they come down, l may have said its an easier climb than it is. Lazy day today, lounging at my favourite beach eating lots of rubbish, perfect preparation for climbing Britain's highest mountain tomorrow, maybe I'll get the girls swimming. there's nobody else here so it doesn't matter they don't have swimming costumes.
