Evening lovely people

Just wondering what everyone is up to this summer, If anything, have you booked a holiday, special day out or just a treat for the afternoon, evening. Something that's going give you something to look forward to.. a small boost.

It may give those of us who haven't decided yet ideas of what they can do, wether it be big or small.

I have booked to go a local..ish, small three day music festival in July,  I'm also seeing Billy Gibbons { from ZZ Top } in consert, thankfully that is local as well,

I would also love to take my van, Mr T {swb ford transit van with basic camper converstion} up to yorkshire to visit the James Herriot museum. But i am i little worried it will be too much for me with the distance etc.  My only saving grace is that if i do get too tired i can climb in the back for a kip and a cup of coffee anytime, with no real deadline to get home.

  • Hello everyone, I’m a Newbie here. I took out annual health insurance last year and took 5 short breaks abroad within 11 months, including a trip to Tenerife only last month! This summer, I am staying put but my brother and sister (who both live abroad) will be flying into the UK and visiting me. Have fun everyone however near or far you travel!

  • Hello Ruby and welcome!  What a positive and uplifting thread this is - love it!

  • Thank you! My partner prefers to stay at home so I took all the trips on my own. He stayed at home to look after our adorable but very demanding cat! My brother lives in France so one of the trips was to visit him. I only found out this evening that he and his family are coming over to England this summer. I am beyond happy! xxxxx.

  • I've been to Oban a few times over the years and loved it. There used to be a health food shop called 'Oban Sesame' there. Great name, I always thought.

  • très bien!

  • They'll have a great holiday, I hope. Beamish is well worth a visit and dogs are allowed. Our two were fascinated to meet the resident farm pig. They probably thought it was a big, hairless dog. Next time, I'm going too

  • Welcome, Ruby. I haven't been a member for long but it's such a great group. This thread is wonderful.

  • Thank you AnnaMary! I just know I now need to be here and hope I can provide to support and companionship to others too. Plus if anyone ever wants to discuss holidays, yup that’s me Joy. xxxx

  • Well last year me and my wife went to Menorca to lie in the sun and eat ourselves silly in local restaurants. It was great to have the break away from all of the worries and stress, so we booked again for this year.

  • Hi Ruby and welcome.

Sometimes you don't have to go away, having your family coming to visit will be something to look forward to & i'm sure you'll have nice days out with them.
