Back on the ward again

So after the radiotherapy they said issues could get worse before getting better so a bit of decline in leg performance was expected. New drugs took forever to get to me but I was able to start them on Monday. Today legs rubbish pain in back horrible, no urine output and raised temperature. So call the assessment line and called straight in.
Had blood & urine tests, ECG,MRI and regular obs. catheter installed and now feeling a lot better except the legs are still rubbish

they have doubled my steroid dose so I’m guessing sleep isn’t going to play a factor for a while

anyway how’s your day been?

To be honest the legs are the least of the worries after last night lol

So it all went a wrong at 2am

Violent shaking , temp hit 39

BP 207/155

Pulse 150

Ten mins later shake’s stopped

Temp still up so

IV antibiotics

IV fluid now

Blood tests. Results show no infection

Urine test seem ok

ECG fine

So we are stopping the new cancer meds till I get back to normal I certainly don’t want a repeat of that

That really is enough to frighten the life out of you. Don't want to state the obvious but more than handy you were in the ward.

Quite likely to have been choosing flowers otherwise!

Stopped new meds and all seems to have settled just getting my levels back to where they should be before we work out what’s next.

it was scary but I was in the right place and staff were excellent

thanks for all your concern I’m good again now
