Just posting an update in case this info is of use to anyone else .
Now 2 years post hemipelvectomy for pubic chondrosarcoma - significant problems with r leg function ( general weakness and unable to adduct) meant that I haven’t driven since surgery and a drivability assessment 8 months post op suggested that I would need an adapted car
anyway , I am a stubborn old soul and have focused on getting stronger and last week went back to the drivability centre and to my and their surprise discovered that I just needed a tiny position adjustment to be able to drive a manual car . It just takes a support cushion /brace on the outside of my right leg to stop it falling sideways and I can control the accelerator/brake safely.
thought I would share in case anyone else in a similar situation !
