Well the appointment has come through for the test to check my Bowel after the Lower Anterior Resection.
I have read all I can find and it doesn’t cover anyone with an ileostomy. The only advice I have been given is to bring a clean pouch.
Now that’s obvious as I don’t go anywhere without one.
It’s informative sheet says that I causes the Bowel movements to soften and that patients will need to be close to a rest room. This causes me confusion as there is nothing in my Bowel they will be putting blue liquid in and there will be no solid matter to come out.
So how long on average will this blue stuff stay there. The hospital is not close to me.
I have bought the necessary pads and pants after reading that it’s possible to leak all over the car seat.
I wish they would be more explanatory in their blurb, it’s really annoying to read that it’s used for constipation.
What a kick in the teeth that is!
Hi John
Sadly I’m not going to get on the list. My results for no leaks were really great so I felt very positive until I went to the clinic where I was told there’s a complication which has caused me to Dr Google and find the very worst news I could. So I’m in for nail biting until I hear from the consultant as to next steps.
Ann
Hello Artsie Ann
I am really sorry to hear that, it is more upsetting when you think things are going ok and then something trips you up. Are you able to share what the problem is or what you think is happening? There may be people here who can help and Dr Google isn't always the best place. Have you got long to wait for the consultant?
You seem a very positive person and whatever it is I am sure that you will deal with it, in the meantime I hope that someone is there to give you a big hug.
All the best, John
Thanks John
Im struggling at moment.
Lots of things happening that are out of my control and when I saw the images it was a tick and forget it.
Then at my follow up she read the findings , gas in the vagina. Looked it up and found some horrendous possibilities. Wish I hadn’t. It’s possible that it may heal. It could have been the cancer I was told it was a very invasive long operation and the surgeon used every tool in his armoury. It could have been the connecting me back together.
Sorry to waffle.
let’s hope they get back to me quickly so I can’t park it. If they don’t I’ll phone them
Ann
Hi Artsie Ann,
Now that is something I definitely can't help you with! But someone may have been through it if you wanted to start a separate post. In the meantime I will cross my fingers and hope that you get an answer quickly.
All the best John
Ha ha. I know. That’s why I didn’t say. Think I’ll keep it here. There’s not much on line positive so I’ll pour glass of wine have a chocolate bar and wait. Worst case I’ll keep WhoopsaDaisy maybe she’ll move over to the other side. Least I won’t have to empty it so much.
take care John.
thanks again
Ann
