Hi Mark and a very warm welcome to the stoma support group and your online community. I see that you have introduced yourself to the members of some other groups and I'm sure that you'll receive a similar welcome into them very shortly.
In the stoma support we aim to give everyone as much help and advice as we can.
We are a very supportive group and are here to help you at anytime you need us.
I see that you have a loop colostomy, have you be told if it's temporary or permanent.
Your stoma care nurse is your first port of call if you need help but should you find yourself in need of help and can't get in touch with your SCN please don't hesitate to give me a shout and I'll do what I can to help you find a solution or answer any question you may have to do with your stoma management and I will be very honest with you living with a stoma is very doable if you adopt a positive attitude towards the whole new experience. I am here to help with pouch problems, give advice about supplies and where to get them, what accessories are used for, tips about management of your stoma, coping with changes anything that is causing you concern and might feel strange to you, anytime you need my support I am available in the group 7 days a week. I'll answer any question you may have and there is nothing too small that it can't be answered - if you're thinking something - want to know something - don't hesitate, ask it, your answer is really just a click away and we can move on.
The Bodach is my name and I live each day of my life with my stoma and you can call on me at anytime to help you start to live your life with a stoma.

Hey Bodach
Thanks for the warm welcome :-)
Still very early days here, but seem to be coping not too bad so far. Pain & tenderness slowly getting better and more manageable each day, although when the pain comes it comes with vengeance. Finding the worse part so far is when I feel the need to 'go' out of my 'old' bottom (throbbing & intense shooting pain, no doubt due to where my cancerous growth is). SCN back from Easter Break tomorrow and will mention it to her, I've heard glycerin suppositories are likely to help? - Still jump out of my skin each time my stoma passes wind!!!
My loop colostomy is going to be permanent.
Very reassuring knowing that help is on hand whenever I should need it.
Many thanks again
Keep safe & well
Mark
