Last year in February, I had a temporary stoma. In January this year, my consultant said I can have a reversal and 6 weeks later I had my pre-op. I haven’t heard anything since so I was wondering if anyone knows how long is the waiting list for a reversal?
Thabk you :)
Nick
It was my surgeons pa who passed me onto the waiting list clerk and gave me the contact name and telephone number.

Hi Yolanda,
I had my reversal on the 24th October :)
Well done - how is it going?
still waiting for my postponement from September. The elective surgery team suggested I may be waiting some months....
i am on an urgent list should a cancellation arises - so fingers crossed. One feels so helpless waiting and waiting - I was hopeful of pre Christmas- but seems unlikely. Disappointing that expectations can’t be better managed
hey ho
Hi ,
That is good news. You certainly waited long enough... too long in fact! I trust you have recovered well and the bowels are behaving themselves?
My reversal was on 10 October, and apart from a slight allergic reaction to the surgical glue, all went well.
Kind regards,
Yolande
Hi ,
Fingers crossed it won't be too long now. Keep us posted.

Hurrah - just as I was about to have cardioversion- I was contacted to have the Ileostomy reversal 31 Jan! So after frantic telephoning relevant consultant sec’s - agreed it ok to have the reversal as the cardioversion not vital - minor flutter
so here I am excited that after nearly 15 months I will be reversed! All fingers and toes crossed - just cut my last (I hope) pouch and changed last bag etc
say a prayer for me
good wishes to all respondents - been so helpful that we aren’t alone
