I've been told that I have pretty bad constipation, I've been telling them that for ages! I get lumps of what they say are poo, around my stoma, appearing and disappearing, it's painful! Opposite to this, I get bouts of diarrhoea then back come the lumps but stoma remains inactive for days! I've had my colostomy for 4 years and this just started about a year ago! The only advice I've had is to keep taking Fibogel plus stool softener! It's driving me mad so please, any advice would be wonderful!

Oh Moira this must be really getting you down.
Im sending you a hug
My niece had terrible issues with her bowel. No stoma but terribly constipated.
She was overweight so went on a diet. Buying sugar free polo mints caused an unexpected reaction to her toilet problems.
For years she’d been buying over the counter remedies then voila.
A sugar free polo
Hope that you feel better soon

Ann
Fingers crossed for you.
Hope that Brooke behaves self
I’m okay.
Good days and bad it evens out.
I’m sure I will feel a little more positive when Spring arrives.
We are booked for Spain end of March then we fly to Ireland for our Grandsons holy communion. Then fly home with my brother who will stay with us for a few days
Quite an adventure!
We are lucky to have our brother in Spain as he can get us a lovely villa.
Hope those polos help.

Brooke just won't listen, no matter what I say or do! The first lot of Laxido caused diahorrea and now, third day, absolutely nothing! At least the pain isn't so bad!
Spring will cheer us all up, I'm glad you're doing ok though Ann, you've had it rough! Lucky you, a Spanish holiday or indeed an anywhere holiday, is something I'm desperate for! We've had a cottage in the Lake District booked now for 3 years, first year, postponed because of hip operation, second year, postponed because of other hip operation, this year, fingers crossed! My hips are great now but because of various things, I couldn't do physio, so mobility is slow in recovering!
Have a wonderful time in Spain and Ireland Ann, you must be such a proud grandma!
Take care,
Love Moira x
Thanks Kath, at the moment things are moving, too much, diahorrea, again! I don't know what is going on, it's over a week since I passed anything solid, the Laxido will have to stop as I think that'swhat's causing the diarrhoea but the lumps are still there! Hopefully they'll just come away nut I think I might give the sugar free stuff a miss for now!
