Sorry Steph, I gave you the common name for the drug. It is actually called AC Adriamycin cyclophosphamide. It is administered into the hand by the doctor rather than by drip. Good news is it only takes around 30 minutes so not too bad. xxx

Paula excellent news how wonderful and uplifting - brill - lots of steps forward in the best direction.

Sue welcome to the site so sorry to hear of what you have been through and what you are probably going through at the moment, you must be exhausted beyond belief mentally and physically. Time to stop now and rest yourself to help you cope with things hereon. Best wishes x

Hope your chemo not making you feel too bad Chelle from Tuesday. Jeanie too from today and that this one will give you a well deserved easier ride.

Marian hope radiotherapy goes well on 1st June great to hear you have finished the chemo, i had first FEC today and feel pretty good bit buzzin and high inside but tired.

Lollypop hope your mums ok just act really normal as i found just wanted to talk and have a laugh and watch a funny film - you know keep it light and cheery, obviously everyone different but as it pops in our minds on and off throughout the day sometimes you just stopped thinking about it and getting on with stuff and someone rings or texts asking you a question and it washes serious thoughts back in. Sure youll do a great job of being there for her anyway :-)

    Stef x

    hello all.
hi jean, yes i have another date for my op, its on the 25th june a week later. But you know how it is you build yourself up to it.
Ive got a day out at the hospital next week ( what fun) wednesday at 9am ive got my before photo to be taken. 930am clerking / pre op, then going to pop to Bath for lunch and shops. Then back to hospital for 230pm appointment with the surgeon. Still it makes me feel that something is happening. i dont like this break between treatments ( just a bit impatient).
im feeling quite positive at the moment.

jean does chemo 5, does that mean you only have 1 more....

paula great news about your mri and ct scan.

    tc all Blossom xxx

    Hi,
Have just found this site. It is so good to know that we are not alone on our journey...I think you are all so brave. Looks like I have got off lighly with my grade I invasive ductal cancer. Started on the tamoxifen 3 days ago and have had a headache ever since...
Will be having the radiotherapy in July or August due to a long waiting list. It still feels so unreal, like it is happening to someone else. My family and friends have been fantastic.
    best wishes to you all...

    Morning All

The little things that make you happy eh??

All the literature I read following the 2 ops said that most ladies would be driving and hanging out their washing after 6/8 weeks.

This has been so frustrating for me as my second op was on 6th February and despite doing all the excercises faithfully, I did not achieve this. BUT LAST WEEK I started to drive again and TODAY I hung out the washing!!!!! You just used to take these things for granted.

Paula, My husband, sons and grandsons are all Man Utd supporters, so we were a very unhappy family on Wed night!

Sue I have just read your profile. You have been through so much. My heart goes out to you. My thoughts will be with you as you go through this very unhappy time in your life.

Stef, don't overdo things after the 1st chemo. Remeber the steroids give you a great buzz for a few days, then it wears off and if you are like me you'll come down with the tiredness.

Blossom, I am so gad you have another date for your op. It won't be too long now. Hang in there!!!

I have to have 3 more sessions of chemo yet. This one is actually given over 2 weeks. So in theory it is actually another 8 lots of chemo, but given to you quicker. So I had dose 1a on Wednesday, dose 1b next Wednesday, then dose 2a three weeks later followed by dose 2b the week after that, and so on, if you get my drift!!

The downside is you have to have bloods taken both weeks and steroids and anti sickness pills both weeks, followed by another lot of pills that counteracts the after effects of one of the chemo drugs. This little b----- of a pill has to be taken every 6 hours for 2 days. So this morning I had to set the alarm to take the third pill at 3a.m.!!! Strict instructions from the nurse that this had to be done. Still it's only the once. I have the last one at 9 p.m. tonight.

Of course 3 a.m. didn't coincide with the 3 trips I have to make to the loo each night. So I was up 4 times last night then awake at 6 a.m. this morning because of the steroids. Shouldn't have bothered going to bed really------tee hee!!!!

Dracsam, nice to see you on board, as they say. You sound very positive. Keep it up!!!

Chelle, I hope you cope ok with this regime of chemo and that you don't have your usual tiredness doubled because of the 2 week caper. Let me know how you get on, mate.

Hope you all have as best a weekend as you can.

Thinking of you all as we go up and down on this roller coaster.

    Love Jean xx
