Hi everyone. Thanks to anyone I have missed for their good wishes, it

is great to have the support of this site with such great people.

Jean, Man United, what a disaster lol Jean like you I was treading the

boards all night, bloody steroids! It sounds like we may be on a

similar regime of treatment. I have to have AC once every two weeks for

ten weeks then once a week for another ten weeks, and like you I have

to have the bloods done before every treatment, millons of tabs and

injections everyday. Still, we will be celebrating your 70th in ten

    years after all this lol.

Jean, Kay, Marmalade, Blossom, Lorraine, Dracus, Sue, Twiglett, Marion, Caroline Steph all have a great day. The weather is gorgeous here so if the sickness stays at bay I am out for lunch. xxx

Sorry girls it's me again! Being blonde and fair skinned I like to use false tan on my face. Having considered this look with a white bald head has anyone used false tan on their heads and would it do any harm. Thanks xxx

    Hi all

i had chemo FEC for first time wed am and surprisingly feel ok not even felt sick - felt starvin and didnt like the buzzin feelin inside which the steroids seemed to cause, and yesterday food suddently tasted nothing although that been a bit on and off for while, mouth just tasted yacky.

Yes Jean thanks i had read back on your notes and others and did not over do it when felt buzzin from steriods so hoping to platuea and not drop off big style with energy loss. so thanks for everyones input about the chemo as it teaches others best way to deal with it and what to expect.

Had a really sad day yesterday my 10 year old alsation x collie passed away in my front room seemed to be a fit and/or heartattack was not pleasant my 16yr old son was with us too when it happened - which although really upset him - its all part of life and it was nice that we both hugged and cried together, my mum was there to as i had made home made potato and leek soup for dinner. Once hubby came home and we had to take dog up to vets and say goodbye we just not know what to do - felt like a big slap in the face. She was gentle and just wanted to please everyone and now when i wake up at stupid o clock i on my jack jones where it was me and my dog till the normal people in the world arose :-) Might have to rush out and buy a pup sooner than i would normally have done as just filling up all the time as the house seems flat without her. And i think it would bring a happy note to the kids who are having too much bad stuff happening - at least when they look back they can say yeah and we got a new puppy. At least i around to give it all the training and one to one at the moment and summer a good time to toilet train a dog, and my son is doing gcse's so he not in school full days and would be on hand too.

Jean are you a lot more wakeful since on chemo (in the night) is it the steroids as i had my last 2 lastnight and am expecting to feel more tired as you mentioned, but am amazed how my body has handled all that medicine so well. Feel like wonderwoman - nothing can stop me or get me down (except the dog jossing it). :-) x

Blossom great you got your new date for op, next step in your journey - good luck.

Hi to everyone else Chelle, Marigold, Jeanie, Marian, Twiglett, Dracus, Kay, Marmalade and anyone i have missed. Lovely weekend weather expected which is lovely.

    Dear Stef
So sorry to hear about your dog. What a shock, and what a bummer on top of everything else. Go for the puppy!! I have 2 labradors - one chocolate, who is 12, and one cream, who is 16 months ,manic puppy the size of a small house, They have been my life savers over the nightmare of the last few months; the things I've said to them that I couldn't or wouldn't say to anyone else, and they still love me! Walking them has been and still is a great therapy. I know just what you mean when you talk about you and your dog being up together at silly o'clock; been there, got the t-shirt.

Hi Steph, so sorry to hear about your dog. It's like losing a member of the family, a pup sounds a great idea it will keep your spirits up. No sickness yesterday and my injection went well, today the nurse is going to watch me do it myself (yuk), it will save me having to wait in for it.
My daughter is on leave from the Navy so we are going to do some serious clothes shopping today, God help me lol.
Hope everyone is bright and sick free xxxx

    Hi Stef

So sorry to hear about your dog. Talk about kicking a woman when she's down!

Go get a new pup! It'll do you the world of good and help take your mind off things.

I usually find with the steroids that the day after I finish taking them i am still on a buzz. The following day i am fine until the evening and then from about 8.p.m. all I want to do is sleep, so i go to bed and sleep for about 9/10 hours. The day after that i am a bit tired, not too bad and then I am fine again.

I was up at 6.a.m. yesterday morning and buzzed all day. Shared a bottle of wine with hubby at dinner and then had a large vodka. Still wide awake!!! Eventually we went to bed at 1.a.m.!!! Dozed until 2.30. Had a wee. Slept until 5.a.m. and then lay awake until 6 a.m. when hubby got up to make me a cup of tea. Bless him, he either needs some steroids to keep him awake or some sleeping pills to keep him asleep when i am tossing and turning and keeping him awake. Today is the last day of the steroids for me, so I'm looking forward to a sleepy Monday Evening!!!

Hope you have remembered to apply for free prescriptions. You get the form from either your GP or the hospital. Also ask your GP to prescribe DIfflam mouthwash for the yucky mouth. I find that it really helps.

    Hi Paula

Re tanning your head, i don't really know, is the absolute truth. Perhaps just wear a wig or bandana if you are already bald and then ask the nurse/doctor the question the next time you visit the hospital.

Good luck with the shopping trip

    Love to everyone else

    Jean x

So sorry to read about your dog. I still remember when my dog died, and that was years ago. They become a part of the family, and it's horrible when when they go. When you have a dog, it doesn't matter what sort of day you've had, you know that a living creature is going to be thrilled silly to see you when you walk through the door. Sometimes I think there's no such thing as gravity, it's just that the world sucks!

Hope everyone else had a lovely day enjoying the sunshine. I've just got back from a BBQ and FA cup afternoon. Great time. Looking forward now to my last herceptin in just over a weeks time. Can't believe it's nearly over.

    Everyone take care.

    Ladies,

reading all your daily messages is a real inspiration to me. All my friends have told me how positive i have been but my situation although shocking at first has luckily turned out better than i had expected, You all cheer eachother on which is so fabulous.

Anyway girls, my question is, when you had lymph node sampling or removal, did the back and underneath of your arm and armpit remain numb? I know its only been just over 3 weeks but nobody seems to mention it.... but then you have all been having more treatments and i know what its like, hardly time to recover and you are off again onto the next thing...

anyway, hope you have all been enjoying the sun and britains got talent... we just love it in our house...

    love
