Hi all there appears to be a lot of celebrating on here at the moment good luck to you girls.

I had bone scan and ultrasound breast done on monday and am happy to report that they are fine.

Unfortunately the Dr now wants a brain scan on thursday, this is because my tumour markers keep rising.

So its head to toe check up for me.

If they can't find the cause then I think I'm going to have to have another round of chemo, lets hope not.

I've just got my hair back, and don't want to have to go through it all again.

As the hubby puts it he will be back to sleeping with shrek again.

sorry for being so negative while your into celebrating.

so well done to the one's who have had their last chemo I do know how great that feels so enjoy and have a party you deserve it.

Hi - I don't know how to make those pretty pictures but congratulations to you, Chelle, from me too - whoopee!! I'm raising a glass to you!
Sue - glad to hear your scans were fine but sorry your markers are still rising. Tell your hubby that Shrek is funny and loving! Got to be better than sleeping with a hairy monster!
    Love to you all xxxx

Congratulations on finishing the Chemo Jean and Chelle....It is the best feeling in the world.

Good luck for the brain scan on Monday Sue, I hope it is all clear and you don't have to have more chemo. Do we have blood tests every year for tumour markers? It is the first time I have heard about this.

I have my DIEP on the 17th September....Have stopped running to make sure I have lots of fat! I am a little nervous about it though. I don't do pain well!

Hi Marian - I have my DIEP on the 22nd! We must compare notes! I've just started taking tamoxifn for 3 weeks as I'd just had an oestrogen implant before I was diagnosed :-( Is yours a bilateral mx? I decided to go with that as they found something that looked a bit suspicious in my right breast and also I wanted everythig to look the same! What about you? I'm so pleased to have a friend to go along with! We can be bosom pals!!
Just off to help run a holiday club for 30 kids!
Have a good day everyone xxxxx

    Morning All

Well the big day is here! Can't believe it is really the end of this crap!

Paula how's the popping boob? Have you managed to get it sorted yet? Another chemo for you today..............another box ticked. Keep smiling, mate. Thinking of you a lot. I'm really surprised the Mac site hasn't replied to you. Go for it.......See what happens.

How are you, Caley? Improving I hope. Keep ringing that bell!!!

Hi Stef, Yup, mouth is still like a badger's bum. Hopefully 2 weeks from today it should start to recover. I'm fed up of food tasting like poo. Friday's radiotherapy appt. is for a CT scan and a measure up prior to the therapy starting. Also a tattoo to pinpoint the exact area to be zapped. I'll get my start date on Friday. HOORAY!! Your viagra story had me in stitches. Think you may have to give your hubby some bromide in his tea!

Lorraine, so glad you enjoyed your weekend away and that your chemo goes ok on Thursday.

Sue, hope all goes well on Thursday for you. I had a trawl through the net re "tumour markers" It would appear that they are not very accurate and that here in the UK the medical profession do not rate them. Tests have shown that positives can be negatives and vice versa. So not very reliable.

Marian and Wendy you can compare notes as you go along. It's good to have someone else going through the same procedure at the same time. As Wendy said "Bosum Buddies"

Well, dear friends in about 5 hours I'll be leaving that chemo unit with the biggest smile ever. When the mouth recovers we will be going out for a really slap up meal. I'm gonna have absolutely everything I love to eat and drink and savour every moment of it.

    Love to you all

    Jean xx

  • Hello, you lovely bunch of ladies, I jumped onto this thread once before, would love for a 'bosom buddy' for a friend of mine who has had her surgery but is just about to start her FEC chemo, she's 35 and a musician. she'd love to get some help and support, please do post on my thread over on 'chat'....('we all get good as well as bad news...',) if any of you could help, we can become friends and then I can pass on more details, she will be best contacted via my daughter, through my email address. sounds complex, but it isn't really!
