Hi Laila - so sorry that you've been in such pain :-( I hope that the comments on here will help you get through this and it will work out as everyone expects it will.
Chelle and Jean - you are nearly there - how good that must feel! So good you have a date in just 4 days, Jean - whoopee!
Jenney - do hope you feel better soon - whatever is causing your sore throat.
Caley, hope you are ringing out that bell and asking for everything you fancy! We have a 3 storey house and we use a bell went we want to cut through any noise to call someone so it works a treat. I'm having one in my room when I get home after my op.!
Paula - thinking of you and the family tomorrow. I hope your mum copes well.
Stuart, keep up the good work.
Hi to everyone else - sorry if I've missed you.
Take care everyone - it sounds as if between us - and when possible - we are putting some fun things in to life - I think that seems really important.
love and huge especially if you are not having a good day today - thinking of you all xxx

    Evening all,
Wendy glad yr going to use a bell, love mine, mind you i can't repeat where my husband said he would like to stick it!!!! Ha ha, ding ding.
Got bit upset earlier when used my softie for first time, looks odd to me, felt odd, don't like it, did anyone else feel this way when they first used it? felt very concious of it, and it moves, seems to sit higher than my own!!! maybe take a few tries to get used to it, hopefuly get proper one in few wks!!! Its a case of woe is me today, had miseries, probably be ok tomorrow, i hope. Wishing you all a good nites sleep and look forward to reading your posts, can be uplifting, good to stay positive, love to you all, caley xxxxxx

The softie is a bit grim. My husband used to call mine the pin cushion! Actually, you can try pinning it in place which may help a bit with the alignment problem, but to be honest it just doesn't sit where you want it to. You'll find that the proper prosthesis is much better. I think you can have that about 6 weeks time.
Depending on your natural breast shape, there's a mail order company that does a post surgery breastform which, although still made of foam, I found much easier to use than the one the hospital gave me. It's teardrop shape, so if you think it would suit you, check out this site:

    www.nicolajane.com

They sent one out to me within 3 days, and I think it was a reasonable price. Don't be tempted to order a silicone one yet though. There're expensive and you won't be able to tolerate the weight yet.

Kay, thanks so much for that. I will have look later. I tried my softie again this morning, doesn't seem as bad as y'day, most problem is me i think, very self concious about it, sure i'll get used to having to use something!!! Feel better in myself again today, think last nite just bit of a relapse. My brother is coming down from preston today with my niece molly and the new puppy, looking forward to seeing them, sure my mardy cat will be pleased, not!!!! I have my bell at the ready, so hopefuly be pampered alday, ha ha, Thanks again kay, maybe sometime soon i'll be able to give advice rather than ask for it. Hope everyone is ok and you all have a good day, love and hugs, caley xxxxxxxx

Jenney i had the cold episodes only after my first FEC didnt have sore throat either - the sweats (wake up soaked on sat after FEC on the Wed) the sweats i have worked out is the toxins leaving your body - i was told chemo drugs stay in your system 3 days so that would add up i also feel bruised like been beaten up from the ribs upwards and that is on satuday and gone by sunday.

Lailla sorry to hear your suffering - it sounds tough - i hope like someone said it is just the first taxotere and that it improves - and that next one you be much better. Hope you get sorted or it eases at least - thinking of you x

Chelle todays your last chemo - bet you so glad - will your energy levels start coming back now a bit. Hip Hip Horrah to Chelle xxxx Hey chelle i got refused DLA on the basis that i wasnt still going to be as bad in February - apparently have to have had it for 3mths - and then still be bad for the next 6 mths - and cos i finish chemo 21st oct and will be having radiotherapy after that - so only way i can get it is by asking oncologist/gp for letter to say i will still be wrotten in Feb 2010 - hey i too can walk what a load of poop. They can stick their lousy benefits where the sun dont shine. x

Sam most people say taste buds go with all chemos but to different levels - think poor Jean has permanent lack of taste - but at least she nearly done now. I found that the first 2 FEC affected taste more and as ive gone on (just had 5th) seem to just get bad coating of mouth and feel sickly more but can manage to enjoy food after the first couple of days.

Jean what an initial set up on the 28th aug - is it your first radiotherapy or like a pre-op thing/ run through? Good luck for tomorrow Jean last one hey whoopee xx

Paula hope you doing ok you having number 7 tomorrow - tick em off buddy - turkish massage sounds bloody good - my sons got to work weekend (bless) and i so chuffed as he has had to cancel his sleepover with his 4 mates (at our house) on saturday so we can all go for family meal (chinese banquet at swinton). hey did i tell you hubby only took viagras he got off his work mate -- to the lakes for my relaxing weekend - isnt he thoughtful hahahahahahahaha bet that made you smile - but you cant tell anyone as youve lost your voice :-)

Got to dash Hannahs going dancing in a mo and making duck noodle dish with veggies - just gonna make it up and hope its good :-) x stef

Hi Took me ages catching up with all the posts. Had a great weekend in London and esecialy enjoyed the weather.

Caley your doing so well as its not been long since your op. Wont be long till you get the proper stuffing.

Chelle Well done and have a fab time tonight drinking Jeans fizzy.

Jean At least youve got your radio set up date so it shouldnt be long after that your radio starts fingers crossed.

Stuart I had a lot of trouble with my work and understand what everyones going through. I have been waiting since March for a package early retirement due to ill health. Something should be in the post so fingers crossed it will be a good offer.

Laila I hope your next chemo isnt as bad. I found I have different side effects each time so here hoping it will be easier. Counting down helps.

The bells realy made me laugh infact there is a lot of laughter on this thread. Steff did the viagra work?lol

Sam Glad your scans were ok and you can come back to the uk for your op. By the way keep the sun off any scars for 12 months as it will make them go red.

Chelle I use to get Zoladex injections into my stomach to stop my overies working Now as I am back on chemo im not having them. Once chemo is finished i have to have radio on my overies to shut them down. Did you have this?

Paula Hope everything heals and you can get away for a break. I does the world of good getting away as you know I try to do this as often as i can so fingers crossed your stiches heal.

Hello to everyone else. It took me ages reading 5 pages of posts and cant remember everything so sorry if I haven left a personal message.

I am having my 12th chemo on Thursday all being well with my bloods. Only 4 to go I hope. With me it is a bit open ended. Not sure when I will have to start chemo again and when I do they said it would have to be a different type. Just have to wait and see.

Jean good luck with your last chemo this week yippeeeee.

Daves cooking a curry for dinner tonight but keeps dropping things and theres a lot of noise coming from the kitchen. Think Ill keep out his way till hes finished lol.

Hope everyones having a great day.

    Lots of love

    Lorraine
