    Evening All

Well I survived my baby sitting and dog sitting day. I have now remembered why I am NOT getting another puppy/dog. She is lovely but my garden is now a shambles. She's chewed the heads of nearly all the bedding plants, poo and pee everywhere, keeps pinching the pebbles from the fireplace, runs off with shoes, slippers etc and chews my toes and ankles!!! Stef, how the hell do you cope with Trevor????

Well Katie had her op this morning and she is a poor wee thing now. Lots of ice cream is encouraged. She came home at tea time and will be getting spoiled rotten now by her Mum and Dad. I'm going round tomorrow afternoon to spend some time with her.

Hi Sarah, welcome to the mad house! Sorry you have to be here, though. I'm sure you will get a lot of help and support from all of us.

Paula - NO MORE KISSING! Jesus if kissing makes your boob pop what does full blown sex do?? Blow your wig off???

Lorraine, I am doing great without the steroids. It's lovely not to be bouncing off the walls and cleaning the house like a demented Tigger on whacky backy! I really envy you getting to France for a few days. Enjoy........you deserve it.

Enjoy your evening out Laila. I'm ready for a few voddys tonight!!

Chelle I do hope your Auntie is OK. What a worry you are having lately, what with your Dad as well, Hope he is OK.

Jenney, great to see you posting again. I thought we had lost you. Yout first chemo will be fine. I think we all found that we coped with the first one really well.

Sue, well what can I say. I'm so glad that you found us and that we have helped to cheer you up. I think this site is a godsend to us all

To everone else, enjoy the weekend and I hope that we all keep well. Looks like Sunday could be good weather wise for most of us. Saturday looks like poo!!!

    Love Jean xx

3 months ago my Friday nights consisted of a good meal in a good restaurant, a few beers and a great laugh with hubby, sex if he was lucky lol
OR a meal in, a cuddle in something sexy and again sex if he was lucky lol
I will paint the scene tonight. Paula in big baggy tracksuit as I seem to get cold these days, bald as a coot with a hat on as the temperature has dropped. Hands in an ice bucket as I feel my fingers have been bashed with a hammer and James sat at the end of the sofa with ice in a tea towel on my toe nails.
We are cracked up laughing, what a difference a few months makes yet we still manage to crease up laughing, what would I do without him, bless!!!

    Hi all,

Did not go to pub with step daughters. Coral's daughter has treatment to get pregnant and today she thought she was pregnant but was bleeding so Coral had to take her to hospital in Manchester for scan (her daughter and husband have a Harley Davidson as transport, so of course that was not usable for this situation). Unfortunately she was not pregnant this time either (she is very overweight so having repeated treatments).
Anyway, will go out with Coral tomorrow.

As I felt normal today I cooked dinner - John usually do it, but as he was working outside painting and stuff as no rain I thought I'll do dinner - and a nice one it was. White fish with nice sauce. On BBC Food it's called Sole with Saffron Sauce. Had my G&T as cooking drink and then rose with dinner. Lovely.

Paula - we have tried sex but husband has not used condom since he was 16 (70 now) and he is very overweight now so tried the other week and had problems with the condom... lol (Has sex without condom some weeks before that and that worked, but chemo nurse insisted on condoms!!)

Hope you all have a nice Friday evening.

Kos dere en hel masse og jeg hĂĄper dere fĂĄr en fin helg.. (This is Norwegian so go to google translate to see what is means).

    Love from Laila xxx

Jean glad you survived - rest up now - i cope with trevor as i got tonnes of patience for anything that needs me (like i very good with screaming babies for hours too :-) - but he is like the boss - haha as i not been firm enough with him at beginning cos didnt always have the energy to stop him pizzing about - trying stop him jumping up and stop going on the soil but he just looks at you as if to say well come and stop me then haha - really cocky little terror - but he has lots good points. Jean great you feeling better without the steroids too - i slept lots yesterday and had no patience and today seem better than my usual saturday after chemo. so no steroids for me any more thank you :-) Is your grandaughter still at the hospital hope she ok.

I am very jealous of trevor - i got up after a very bloated day yesterday (was 9stone 5 on Mon and yesterday was 9 stone 10 and thats without steroids giving me ragin appetite - really not eaten too much so what going on there - then i not been to toilet for few days and felt an urge so trotted off to bathroom and nothing !!!! meanwhile trevor has just left an enormous parcel in the hallway wile i sat on loo - he is just showing off (went in hall as left back door open but it raining haha)

Paula i felt gorgeous (not) too lastnight - we had no children (mum taken hannah wooo and michael gone on a walking mission with cadets till sunday - so we had house to ourselves and just watched tv in our pj's - can just picture you with your ice treatments and hat on hahha lol. Paula your hubby sounds a little gem :-) how lovely to be pampered over. you are a very lucky lady.

Jean you are funny - i also think paula should hang fire and just give the odd kiss for now - who knows what would happen if they went for it hahaha.

Chelle hope things turn out ok for your auntie - fingers crossed and that your weekend is good.

Jenny welcome to our mad world :-) i am on FEC and just had fourth one (half way there now) you have yours on Friday yeah - i will be thinking of you. You sound in good spirit and thats great - keep it up and let us know how your FEC goes on Friday. I had mine Wed and today feel pretty good. (sat) x

Lailla sorry you didnt get to the pub and hope you get out today (though it raining here again think sunday going to be ok). Yeah condoms are no fun but necessary. i am a bit switched off in that dept - perhaps if hubby pampered round after me a bit when i out of action i might be able to switch on a bit - but he not as good as yours and Paulas and jeans hubby he gets down when i am - and that makes me worse - have told him and he staying more cheery and positive this time.

Hi Lailla, sorry to hear about your step daughter, fingers crossed she will get pregnant soon.
I have read somewhere about using a condom as the chemo can transfer to your partner, I haven't been told this by my oncologist though. James will be lucky with or without at the moment, iceing my toenails is far more important lol.
Kos dere en hel masse og jeg hĂĄper dere fĂĄr en fin helg.. You too Lailla xx

Steff, you and Jean have given me visions of James trying it on and me flying around the ceiling like a popped balloon lol I'm really pleased your hubby is staying positive this time, it really helps if your not feeling so good yourself. With you feeling better without steroids this could light the old spark again lol xxx

    Morning all,

Stef I’m jealous of Trevor being able to go to the loo too!! He sounds adorable and just what you need to keep smiling. Glad your having a better Saturday (after chemo).

Laila your tea sounds delicious (even if it is breakfast time!!). Your condom story just cracked me up lol!! Have a lovely pub lunch today and I really hope Coral’s daughter has better luck next time, very sad. I'd better make another cup of tea (even though it tastes poo with chemo mouth!) to wake me up to translate your message!

Paula your Friday nights are the same as mine! I don’t look like me, no sex, piling on the pounds and to top it off I go of booze for a couple of weeks!! How times have changed boo-hoo! Never mind it won’t be long till those day’s are back again woo-hoo! Glad you can both still have a laugh. This week’s chemo hasn’t been too bad, infact it’s most definitely been the best for minimal side effects so far!! :-). Now my hubby’s mentioned moving, I really fancy the idea. We do live near an old market town, in a pretty village at the moment, which is full of lovely old, beautiful houses, but we live in the middle of the village in a fairly modern house. I quite fancy being on the outskirts, with views and an old house. Oh well maybe one day. I’m thinking all these nice thoughts and planning a future to remain positive.

Jean dad’s doing ok ta, they are not too worried about him now. He’s just on medication, a diet!! And de-stressing. Glad you survived yesterday, although it sounds like your garden, house, ankles, toes, slippers etc didn’t quite survive the dog lol! Great to hear Katie’s being spoiled and eating loads of ice cream (glad they still do this, someone told me they didn’t anymore and gave them toast instead…ouch!!). Have a lovely day.

Susie thanks for your lovely comments. I’m so pleased you have stopped feeling down and you’re able to have a laugh. Sorry your mum couldn’t show your pictures but glad she is doing well. Have a great day and enjoy that lovely weather (well the shade of course) because here just lately the weathers been pants!!

Jenney thank you for your lovely comments too. It’s a great bunch of people on here. Sorry your port is still sore. I think it will be sore for just a few days then you will forget it’s even there!! Every now and then I will knock mine or notice it in the mirror but otherwise I forget it’s there!! Bring on the chemo!!

Well we're off to a friends for a BBQ later. Lets hope the food tastes good with the chemo mouth! Also hope i can stay awake and be good company. What with not wanting a drink and being tired they'll wish they'd never invited us lol!!

    Have a fab weekend

    love Chelle x

    Hi everyone

Still in Devon. I'm tapping away at my nephew's laptop, looking at the rain lashing down just now, bored out of my mind. My nephew doesn't use a mouse so posting takes me twice as long as normal, and I keep forgetting that I have to log on to the site each time, as it doesn't recognise this computer address.

It's been good to read your posts over the past few days, as you all seem jolly and positive at the moment. Jenney, as the others have said, I promise that, although chemo is pretty horrid, it can be done and it doesn't last for ever.

We're looking to move down to Devon as soon as we can, and have managed to look at 3 properties whilst we're here, in between looking after all the animals. Yesterday we saw a really sweet cottage that will no doubt one day make someone a gorgeous little home, but not us. Too much work and money to spend! However we also saw a good house that we could make really nice, as it won't need too much work. Unfortunately, we have to sell the home we have now first. Goodness knows how long that will take in the current climate.

Looking after the animals has really concentrated my mind on whether or not we'll get some pets when we move. I love dogs, rabbits etc, but I had forgotten what a tie they are as it's been a long time since I've had any. Now that me and Paul have retired I want to be able to go away for a few days when I feel like it, so I think animals are going to be a no no. Stef, I really wish you were here now, I'm sure you'd be great with the pets, and I expect the dogs would love to play with Trevor.

Last night, one of the cats started going crazy in the hall, followed by the 2 dogs. When we investigated, we found them all congregated round one of Paul's shoes. He picked it up and a tiny little shrew jumped out. It ran into the living room, pursued by cat, dogs and us, and shot under the sofa. I opened the french doors and knelt down, just as it ran out towards the middle of the room. I had to move quicker than I thought I could, and pick it up before the animals pounced, and throw it into the garden, whilst Paul tried to stop the pets from following. We then watched the poor little shrew make it's way across the grass into the safety of the bushes and trees before we could let the pets out. Well, it livened up an otherwise quiet night!

    Kay xx

Hi How is everyone today? Cloudy but dry here so going out for a walk to get some fresh air Feeling a bit yuk today not sure if it was the beers I had last night or the chemo lol.

Laila I have inflammatory breast cancer a difficult one to diagnose. They told me I had mastitis for a few years and by the time they found cancer one boob was much bigger than the other. Still the chemo reduced it so much I could hardly feel it before my op. In Scotland we still have to pay for our prescriptions L Hope Corals daughter gets pregnant soon.

Chelle I love to plan trips it takes my mind of the C and gives me something to look forward to. I want to do as much as possible with my life its just a shame its taken C to realise this. Try booking somewhere nice when your finished your treatment. Because I am on weekly chemo they don’t mind me missing the odd one just means it will last longer at the other end Nearly be November before I am finished. I will keep my fingers crossed that your auntie is ok. Enjoy your BBQ tonight and I hope it stays dry for you.

Susie So glad your felling better and I think this thread is a great help to us all. Some funny stories and great humour which gives me a great laugh reading them. 41 degrees is to hot for me. Keep cool in the shade!

Paula your post made me laugh. Wont be long and before you know it your hair will have grown in your fingers will be ok and Friday nights can return to normal lol. The posts re condoms are making me laugh so much it hurts. Sex Cant remember what that is lol.

Kay I love Devon and I would love to live there. Another place I fancy is Whitstable but will have to wait for a while as my youngest still has 2 more years at school plus I have so much support here it would be silly to move at present. Like you I would love some pets but don’t think I will as I like to get away for weekends so who would look after them. My boys are never here even although they are begging to get a dog and promise to look after it when I go away but we all know dad and mum will be left with the responsibility of looking after it. Sounds like you and Paul have your hands full in Devon with all the animals lol.

Steff Paula Jean and myself have been chatting on skype If any of you want to join us just download skype and we can all have live chats together.

Hope everyone has a fab weekend

    Take care

    Lots of love

Hope everyone is okay, sorry but i will just do a general post to all as i'm having trouble remembering who said what to me anyway.
