Hello everyone,

Can't say i'm delighted to be here but having read a few of the topics on here,it's comforting to know there are so many people out there willing to offer moral support to cancer sufferers and all those affected by the illness.

My mother has recently been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer which she also has in her adrenal gland. She was also told it was highly possible it had spread to her small intestine, colon and bowel. The tests for those place proved negetive though so that was some good news.I'm not sure what stage the cancer is but assume it's stage 4.I'm not sure where exactly in the lung it is either.Thinking of it,i'm not too sure about anything! I work and by the time i finish the consultans have all left.I have spoken to the nurses on her ward but as they aren't cancer specialists, can only give me general information.
My mum starts her chemo on frididay. She's very positive about it and is determined to fight as hard as she can.The thing that is worrying me the most is she is becoming very confused.I have asked a couple of nurses why this is and they said it's probably a number of reasons rather than anything specific. They did say though that it wasn't due to any medication she was taking.
Sorry if i'm babbling! I'm not really sure what i'm asking for on here, just wanted to get things off my chest.
Thanks for your time.

Andrew
