izzy, I think that the treatment varies simply because our loved ones vary. It's not an easy treatment and the age of the person, position of the tumour, general heath of the person can all affect what treatment they can stand. But also what the doctor is familiar with so if  you want an option explored, keep at it. Ask and ask again is my advice.

Here is link to Cancer Research UK's page about the wafers:http://www.cancerhelp.org.uk/help/default.asp?page=15873
I'm not very familiar with them and haven't researched them but i think at least one person on the We Talk Brain Tumours thread has used them? I'm sure people with much more knowledge about them than me will be able to give you some better information - you might like to repost your thread there.

One really important thing though, please don't ever be frighted to ask doctors or consultants anything
In fact, decide what you both want to know - some people want to know everything, some prefer not to, it's just personal choice. Then write a list of everything that you want to know before you go and just say
    "I have a few questions".
They should be able to answer to your satisfaction and if they cant ask them again. I was quiet in appointments at first but now I am comparable to Hyacinth Bucket with my list of questions prepared earlier.
    Best wishes,
    CH xx

    Hi Lesley

It must be so hard for you not having Michael home with you and the kids, i am quite sure that the hospice will put all the necessary things in place for him to come home to you. I have been going to Ayrshire cancer support since august, and they have been absolutely fabulous the support councilling and hypnotherapy, tomorrow i am going to get reflexology, you should give them a call they are very supportive, they gave me a number to call about getting bath bars etc fitted and told me to do it now as it can take some time to organise i will pass this number on to you if you need it take care. xx

Izzy glad that you are gettinng the help that you need, dont be afraid to ask the consultant anything they have heard these questions over and over before, i know the answere might not be what we want to hear take care xx
