Hi Liz,
How did it go?? I can't believe she swears so much, that’s not good is it. I know we all let slip sometimes (not really bad words though), but I have to be really angry before someone gets my back up. I hope its all worth it though, if she's a good instructor you will forget the bad words. The 3 point turn is not a good lesson, I can remember when I did mine, she (mine was a woman too), took me to an UPHILL road that was old and dipped down at the kerbs !!!! I was forever slamming the breaks on and wrenching the handbreak out of its socket!! Very hard. I failed my first test for driving too close to parked cars, even though there were cars parked either side of the road and when my instructor told me to drive on, another car started coming in the opposite direction, so I had no choice but to pull over. I still failed. Then the second time round, I stalled it on a roundabout (very embarrassing), but passed !! how do you work that one out?? Anyway, good luck with it. do you know when the test will be? I think it’s a lot lot harder now because you have to do a written test as well don’t you. I'd never pass if I had to do all it again.
I've always wanted to ask about the price for the house, but didn’t because I thought it was rude, but can well imagine that its very high, especially if its an old building. I hope you get the asking price and can spend the money on the lovely church you work in, it will money very well spent. It just shows how hard you’ve been working Liz, to have a whole week owing to you in overtime??? You must be worn out, I hope you’ve had a relaxing week, you certainly deserve it. As for the pruning, I think Marie is right about cutting back to the nearest shoot for trees, I'm not sure about hedges though. When you watch these gardening programmes on tv they just seem to either use the hand shears or electric and just seem to shave them, so I don’t think they matter too much about how close. I wish my Mum was here, I would ask her.
