Hi, My name is Bob and I live in Cambridgeshire. I am married with an 8 yr old daughter and three older step sons. Up untill the end of last year everything was tickety boo having recently moved to a new house which we love. Work was busy but enjoyable. I am Manager of an electrical companys maintenance department and my Wife, Linda was enjoying her job as a Nurse. The three boys are buying there own house nearby and all work locally.
In November I went to my Doctors with a small "cyst" on my chest. After a couple of referals and many Xrays, pet scans, bone scans and CT scans I was told the news everybody dreads. My lump on the chest was a secondary cancer of which the primary was in my left Kidney. I was fast tracked to the Royal Brompton, under the expert care of Mr Laddas who informed a long and complicated operation would need to be carried out to remove the bone tumor and surrounding bone which involved two ribs,my collar bone and chest bone. I did not have time to panic, the operation was carried out the next day over 10 hrs. After nearly two weeks in the Brompton I am recovering well from this op but I have since been told that the Cancer is in both kidneys as well as small mets in both lungs. It seems at the moment further ops are out the question and i have been put on the drug Sutent. I am one week into this and so far so good. I do not know what the future holds but I have to remain positive.

This scamming is simply not acceptable, how dare they do this.

Hope you are feeling a bit better Bob, and that you and Linda have a lovely BH weekend

    Best wishes to you all

Thanks all for your support. It's a great shame that these scammers spoil it for the rest of us. Today has been ok, well sort of. I did wake up quite early and felt good. Linda came down and sorted me out for breakfast.I then had a bit of a asthma episode which threw me totally. It's probably the first time I felt disressed and a bit frightened. As the day has progressed I have felt a bit better. The drugs in my driver have been altered today and hopefully the Benefits will kick in soon. I still cannot get my temperature to settle, Up and down it goes. My legs still feed like lead weights especially when getting in bed and walking. Still, tomorrows another day.

What? I missed the scammer, damnation....! What did he, she or it say?

They are buggers, but the breast cancer suggestion way earlier did make me giggle. Bob, you do like to push the limits...! I suggest alien abduction next.

Anyway; sort the medication out, snooze, look at the sky & cuddle the family.

    As always,

    Steve

    Hi Bob,

I really hope that those drugs kicked in allowing you to have a good nights rest.

And today has also been as good as possible for you, also for Linda, Kate and your boys.

    Thinking of you all.

    Love Maryxxxxx

  • Hi, Sir Bob, hope today has been better but that you didn't venture out too much they didn't shut the door way in the northwest, so there was a hefty chilly wind blowing from there, even Sir who loves to sit outside is in, this evening!

Love and hugs for you and all the family

Hi Bob and family, just like to say I hope you all have quality time together and lots more of it.

I unfortunately lost my wee sister recently and she read your posts, like you she was a fighter and lived life to the last. Make everyday count she used to say and she was right.

Best Wishes to you and your lovely family who love you so much. xx

Lovvely family BBQ, which boys organised,  and  Bob managed to get out in his chair in the garden for an hour, then later on two of his sisters came over and  spent some time with him.

Pain relief increased again today, temperature still all over the place, feeling weary.... we carry on
