My mother had Bowel cancer, 2013 and since then in the recent years liver and lung mets ( she had a Bowel and lover reaction too)
Recently they said the chemo isn't working and she needs to start a new regime. Her prognosis is really vague.
Recently she has had infections back to back, and now acites which they've put a permanent drain in for.
I'm really scares as she has been deteriorating. In bed mostly and appetite has reduced. I'm so scared I'm losing her, can anyone help or has anyone been through something similar.
I'm scared these are end of life signs but so confused.
Thank you
Hi Shah and a warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read about your mum's cancer diagnosis and that she is having to start on new treatment because the chemo isn't working.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I hope you don't mind me suggesting a couple of groups for you to join. The first is the bowel cancer group, which is a great place to ask questions and share experiences, and the second is either the carers only group (if you are your mum's carer) or the family and friends group which are both safe and supportive places to discuss your worries and emotions.
To join these groups just click on the links I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
