Well here i am again at 4.30 in the morning and i can't sleep yet again!! My husband Darryl has terminal small cell cancer and, at the moment is going through a really good phase. Which, i would have thought, would set my mind at rest and enable me to sleep. But no, here i am again having had 2 hrs sleep tonight wide awake with mad thoughts running around my head!! This is driving me crazy and i just seem to be on auto pilot all the time. Darryl is 44 years old and we have been given a prognosis of a 2-3 year life span for him. I can't seem to let go of this thought, and maybe part of me can't sleep because of that, as i feel if i'm asleep i'm wasteing precious time!! Darryl is sound asleep and resting well, and if i stay upstairs next to him listening to his breathing, i keep thinking is this the last time i'll ever hear that and end up getting so uptight and worried that i find it better to just get up again. So i wander round the house do a few chores, have a hot caffiene free drink and will myself to sleep all to no avail i might add!! hahaha surely i'm not the only carer who never sleeps, or am i????? any comments gratefully recieved. Hi Karen hope u doing ok, hi everyone Just back from my parents,dad quite chirpy,more so than of late, so thats picked me up, hes talking about coming to mine and doing a bit in the garden,and even staying over to look after the animals if i go on holiday,but best of all hes hoping to get away for a few days in his camper van, i soo hope that can b a reality, hope he stays like this for a good while yet!! got his nxt appointment wih consultant on Thurs, i soo hope they are pleased with his progress,and can offer us some hope,but realistically not sure.......stay positive sheree!!!!!!!!!!!! hi shezie ye a am a bit better tnight a no you like your wine so thot a would need the ot if you comeing ha ha .seriously a think the exstra cash will come in handy wont even see it till november but still thanks again for all your help the other night just missing my boys got me down .just heard to day my freind scotts dad died friday he was in hossy for weeks a need to be there for him and his mum he lost his sister last year we were flat mates 20 years ago and only met again when he got out the army and came back to help his mum .so all hands on board for a great freind .he brought me a sofa to day he had picked up .(does removals ) last week he helped me get bed and stuff from ikea .as my arm not right the help was realy needed .just shows when one door shuts another opens dont no what a would do without all of you and old freindsxxxxx for all the good people out there
