Well here i am again at 4.30 in the morning and i can't sleep yet again!! My husband Darryl has terminal small cell cancer and, at the moment is going through a really good phase. Which, i would have thought, would set my mind at rest and enable me to sleep. But no, here i am again having had 2 hrs sleep tonight wide awake with mad thoughts running around my head!! This is driving me crazy and i just seem to be on auto pilot all the time. Darryl is 44 years old and we have been given a prognosis of a 2-3 year life span for him. I can't seem to let go of this thought, and maybe part of me can't sleep because of that, as i feel if i'm asleep i'm wasteing precious time!! Darryl is sound asleep and resting well, and if i stay upstairs next to him listening to his breathing, i keep thinking is this the last time i'll ever hear that and end up getting so uptight and worried that i find it better to just get up again. So i wander round the house do a few chores, have a hot caffiene free drink and will myself to sleep all to no avail i might add!! hahaha surely i'm not the only carer who never sleeps, or am i????? any comments gratefully recieved. I went to the Doctors the other week and was suffering with piles. He asked me if the medication was working but I said no, I've tried it all but am still in agony.
He said "I've been reading a paper about alternative medicine and there is a Gypsy remedy that you might want to try. I'd like you to do it so I can report back at the next BMA conference on the results."
I said "I up for it as long as it is going to sort my farmers out."
He said "you've got to make a big pot of tea from tea leaves. Drink four cups and strain the rest away. You then make a tea leaf poltice and apply it to your anus. Leave it there for 24 hours and then you will be cured".
I said "OK I'll do it tonight and get back to you this time tomorrow."
I went home, made the tea, made the poltice, stuck it around my ring and went to bed. I got up the next day and left it on.
I went back to the doc's in the evening and he said "Drop your trousers and bend over and we'll see what's happened."
I did what he said and I could hear him going, "mmm, ahh, er, mmmm..." I said " am I cured doc ?".
He said " I don't know about that, but you're going to meet a tall dark handsome stranger...."
Just reading an article on the dangers of drinkin too much alcohol.Scared the s**t out of me............ ...................so ive decided as from today ...no more f****** reading!!
