Hi everyone
I am just trying to navigate myself around the site. Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

HI Sue, Have the doctors estimated how long Paul will be in hospital? B was lucky enough to get out very quickly after the first operation - admitted Tuesday, 8.5 hour op Wednesday, home Friday (with a little encouragement to the doctors!).
I hope Paul gets out as quickly. Sounds like we are talking about prison doesn't it? xx
Love,
CHxx
Good morning all,
Hi Sue, good to read you you managed a quick getaway, what a place eh?
We are still waiting for the results. The ns said he would ring, I hope he's not forgotten?
I told him that as Doreen is at the moment I didn't ideally want to drag her in just to be told that all's ok, so we'll wait until the end of this week and I'll ring if nothing heard. Thank you for asking and best wishes to Paul.
Best wishes to all,
MartynXXXX
Hi Susan
Am I correct in thinking (hard these days!) that Paul is going in this Sunday coming? And I've just reread your post - have I missed something, I knew you were going to see the consultant this week, but how come you have been twice - 2 days running - I've obviously forgotten what you wrote sometime earlier - sorry.
Also, not yet missing daughter number two - and she's obviously having no problems settling in as I've only heard from her once in respect of student loans (she's using her money up on all those societies she's joined, the most exciting one seems to be the Rollercoaster Appreciation Society - not some debating societ of course!!) - or not as the case is at the moment - something else to grumble about - it only happens yearly that these students go off to uni so how is it that so many of them are not receiving it and having to make alternative arrangements with uni's and emergency loans - grrrr!
Thinking of both of you - the anticipation is awful isn't it? xx
Susan,
Wishing you & Paul well for the forthcoming operation. Hope he recovers quickly & is able to 'escape' as planned! xxxx
Starting to feel a little more human today. Sore throat has subsided & for the first time in a couple of weeks I haven't got a headache (yet!). However, don't really feel up to sitting in front of the computer for long so can't prepare work. Will probably plan to go back on Monday so that I have a chance to recover completely. Can't really say that I feel Tamiflu has made much difference - maybe I just didn't get it in time.
Col continues to do well but I've noticed in the last couple of weeks that he seems to be a bit more forgetful - mainly of conversations that we have had. Wondering if this is the effects of WBRT starting to kick in. Haven't said anything to him about that as I don't want to worry him but I know he's noticed that he's not remembering things so well. Will have to think about bringing it up at next consultant appointment in October but I don't think there's anything that can be done about it.
Martyn, hope Doreen's results come back with positive outcome - thinking of you both. xxxx
Martyn good luck with Doreen's scan results. Its horrible waiting isn't it?We have been lucky with my hubbys scan results- last time waiting only three days for the result. Hope the news is good x x
Hi Mandy,
Yes, we did have to go twice to Nottingham. I did a post about it on Tuesday night when I was feeling somewhat wrong side out after being at the QMC for 5 and a half hours! Paul's ECG revealed an abnormality so he had to go back yesterday for a cardiac scan. I really hope nothing showed up that will lead to the surgery being put back. They did say they would telephone him if there was any problem so I suppose no news is good news.
CH, the neuro surgeon told us Paul would need to be in for "a few days." When he had the biopsy he was told they would normally expect him to stay in for 2 nights after the surgery but he seemed so well and griped so much about being in hospital that they let him go home on the day after the surgery. The planned surgery is in the same site as the biopsy but there will be a larger incision so I don't know whether it will affect him more afterwards.
Hope everyone is well. Chilly isn't it?

Hi Y & Y,
Thank you. Have you found your wall yet or do you require a helping hand????
Susi,
Didn't Vic's gentle massage improve the chest?
XXXX
Hi Susii -Just to say that Mum has some short term memory loss brought on by the RT, so far, touch wood and all, nothing has come back on the scans so it is more likely to be RT effects than anything else. I've found out a few bits and pieces about memory loss so let me know (PM or on here, whichever) if I can give you any more info.
Susan- hope the operation goes to plan for Paul.
MArtyn- hoping that no news is good news with regards Doreen's scan.
Take care all, Ali xx
Hi Martyn,
The offer that you give to me,
Is here so bold for all to see,
I had no luck to find my wall,
Or posts from past or b****r all! Ha ha
Y & Y,
I've had a good rummage around and discovered your wall. It was bare so I have taken the liberty of making the first entry.
Click on your the, ' View Your Profile' at top right of a page and scroll down to the bottom. Your wall is close to the bottom!! I like your humour.
Hi Ali thank you, I really think he would have rung by now if it had been bad news, I'll ring him next week.
