Hi everyone

I am just trying to navigate myself around the site.  Still struggling, but thought I would try and make a temporary place for the WTBT folk as we are all wandering round like lost souls at the moment- don't know if this will work- but worth a shot while Mac try and resurrect the old thread

Love Ali xxx

    Hello,

Hope everyone is doing okay. I haven't been on this site long but it has been a tremedous support.

Sadly my dad passed away this morning at 2am, he will be sadly missed and I probably haven't quite taken it in yet. He fought so bravely and I am so proud of him but at least he is at peace and I have my wonderful memories.

    Take care,

    Joolsx

I am sorry for your loss Jools and wish I had met some of you people earlier in the journey.

Peace be the journey for your Dad.

    Hi Sue (Suetoy),

Glad you managed to find us, the site doesn't seem quite as user friendly as the old one, but hopefully that will all come. Everything crossed for Pete and please keep us upto date.

    Hi Susan,

I've just seen your post, glad you found us.

Good to hear that you enjoyed your holiday, you have been through far more than your share recently.

I hope Paul was wearing his undies when he re-enacted the Great Escape, or am I thinking of another one? I do hear that the Island is speedily trying to replenish it's supply of provisions!

    Best wishes to you both.

Wow finally worked out what my user name is again!

The problem with the stie is they will have had the impending feeling it looks old and neede jazzing up.  Whilst the site may have a forum is just a forum, it doesn't need graphics just a simple way to input words.

I was shocked at how long it was down as I know as my FIL was passing away the thought of not being able to speak to you all would have been dreadful.  Anyway quite a few of us have found our way back, the train is on track even if it is a slight disfunctional pendilino!

    Keep well out there.

    Hi Everyone

Susan206 - good to hear from you - sounds like you had a lovely time away - I presume that was a special place for your parents - you will always smile to yourself when you think about Paul and yourself and the gardens, something extra to remember hey?  Thanks for your reply about P's swallowing - it's strange isn't it how we would be choking but they don't even flinch.  The speech therapist said, after I told him about the pain P complains (is that really the right word???) about in his right side, that that was specifically significant as that is a huge indicator that the food/drink is entering his lungs as the bronchial that side is bigger so tends to go into that side. I asked how come he'd not suffered any infection - apparently luck, that he hasn't been in contact with colds etc - so time will see.

Suetoy - welcome back!  Good to hear from you.  I too was wondering about your Pete.  My P went into rehab (though he was severe and in for a long time) and I was worried about that - I thought it as a place where people might get forgotten - couldn't be further from the truth - they were fantastic and I'm so so grateful - I hope he is continuing to improve - physio and OT will be amazing for him I assure you - it will give him something to concentrate on too so maybe will stop being as grumpy towards you.  In the initial stages my P couldn't even sit - within days he was transferring himself (though he shouldn't have been, bit of a nightmare patient - but the staff did discourage!).  Take care xx

Jools, I'm so sorry - as CH says I hope you always know you are always welcome to drop in anytime - it's good to read that you know you have your memories, these will help see you through these next hard times to come xxx

Briarwood, welcome back to you too - nightmare this site huh?  I hope you have managed to persuade MIL to put those pictures around the house - it's funny isn't it how people cope - I've lots of pictures of P around - more than before diagnosis, well actually I didn't have any before BT!  But now I have them in every room and we even had a big expensive familyone done and put in the pride of place above the fireplace - P was a bit relunctant as it cost a fortune (Yorkshire coming out again!) and even said what about when he's not here any more and I'm with someone else!!!  My reply was a) I can't imagine being with anyone else - no thank you! and b) even if I did would they really be the right person for me if they couldn't even look at a picture of P - afterall I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for him!  So as usual he knew his place and I got my own way!!!

    Speak soon xxx
