Hey all. I'm new here. I'm Paul. Wanted to introduce myself.

So. Last year I had stage 2 grade 3 kidney cancer. They took out the kidney and all went well. Then after 5 months I had my follow up scan and they found 2 spots on my lung. So I got that now.

I know they saw it early and I'm going to be put on these immuniser pills hopefully but at times I struggle. I'm supposed to be moving flats. I'm in a crappy house share and need my own space but as a single guy I'm worried that if I get bad I'll end up on the street.

Plus. I dunno if it happens to everyone. But since the Dr said it's my lung my right side has been tender. Is that in my mind lol.

I'm really here to vent and think aloud. Any thoughts greatly appreciated tho and if anyone else needs to talk I want you to know I'm here :)

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm really sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with kidney cancer that has spread to your lungs.

The community is divided up into cancer specific groups where you can ask questions, share experiences and give and receive support. Hopefully you won't mind if I suggest a few groups for you to join.

Firstly there are the kidney cancer and secondary lung cancer groups and then if you want a good old rant we have The Room, where you can rant and rage and then shut the door.

If you're worried about your finances then I'd recommend giving the Macmillan Support Line a call on 0808 808 0000. It's free to call and you could speak to one of the welfare rights or financial advisers.

When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
