I hope someones out there, because I just need to know we're not alone. My husband (47) was diagnosed Monday with colon cancer.  I don;t know if im coming or going and feel so alone and scared right now..

We recently momved to edinburgh and don't know many people much less any friends yet.  Our kids are all older 22,20,16 and they no longer do the playdates so I haven't met other mothers or parents.

Whats worse even is that we have no family it's us and our 3 kids.  We've both lost all our parents to cancer already so we have first hand knowledge of this shi* disease. And every time I think of my husband I break down as i'm so scared I'm going to lose him to this ..

I dont know how to see daylight to be the source of strength he truly needs from me  He is the backbone for this family.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community

I'm very sorry to hear that your husband has just been diagnosed with colon cancer. It must be a very frightening time for you all and it's understandable how you're feeling at the moment.

I can see from your activity that you've already found and posted in the carers only group and I'm sure you'll get a lot of support from the people over there.

Could I also suggest that you join the bowel cancer group as it will give you the opportunity to ask questions about treatment, etc and also read about the experiences that other people with colon cancer have had.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post your question after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

    Sending a supportive (((hug)))
