Hi,

I am looking for advice on immunotherapy carpolatin trials.

Has anyone had any success or a descent outcome.

I'm not ready to give up yet.

Little history in the last 14 months I've been diagnosed with 2b cervical cancer, received chemo/radio/brachytherapy. Tumour now gone. But pet scan showed 'activity' on my spine and one rib.

They have said the words hopefull and optimistic and I know this isn't said lightly but I still feel like I've been given a ticking clock.

Really struggling to find my fight.

  • Hi  , I just thought I’d pop in as you hadn’t had a reply yet to say I recognise that ticking clock feeling. I can’t add any info on the immunotherapy trial for your cervical cancer but i had the immunotherapy drug Pembrolizumab in 2016/2017 for metastatic melanoma and it got me to no evidence of disease when without it I was looking at less than 12 months. It was a strange feeling starting it, not knowing if it was going to work for me, and wondering what the side effects would be like as even though they give a long list of possibilities everyone seems to be different and I got away very lightly, I came off treatment after a year and had a year treatment free which was marvellous unfortunately after the year there was a recurrence in a lymph node so I am currently back back on immunotherapy but currently no evidence of disease again.

When the immunotherapy was offered to me it was no longer on a trial, it was approved by the NHS for my cancer type 2 months before I needed it. I therefore didn’t have to think hard about starting it and what the advantages or disadvantages would be I just felt I needed to jump in as soon as possible, and hope for the best.

    Best wishes

    Take care KT
