Partner diagnosed with throat and a separate lung cancer last Xmas Eve. 8 weeks radiotherapy and 2x10 hour chemo infusions, and 4 months later we were given the incredible news that no longer any evidence of the cancer anywhere. The 11 months of tests, treatment then waiting for scan he handled so well. Never complained about having to have all teeth removed, feed through stomach tube, losing voice for 8 weeks etc. Since receiving the news of 'all clear', gradually stopped eating (no physical reason for this), i have to remind him almost daily to take medications (heart meds as also had heart attack 3 years ago), would simply not even drink the nutrition drinks we still have if I didn't badger him etc and even then rarely has more than about 1400 calories a day. He is already on high dose of anti-depressants. I have tried to get him to speak to me about his resistance to eating or what is making it hard (Im a Counsellor) but all I get is 'don't know' and 'back off'. Tried every kind of food stuff to appeal to him. At my wits end and going to speak to the cancer team for help on Monday. Any other insights or suggestions would be appreciated.
