Hello. My father had surgery last year to remove a skin cancer, it seems to have been a very long process. That seems to be healing, it was also found in his lymph nodes in the armpit and they were removed, and they gave scans and found it is now in his lungs. He gets a treatment plan soon but he will have immunotherapy every 3 weeks. He has had an absolutely awful cough for a very long time, maybe a year. But they said it wasn't cancer causing this. I don't know the fine details of his diagnosis as I wasn't with him, but he told me. He is in decent health otherwise and 77 yrs.
I am struggling as I am pretty close with him and we talk most days.
Hi Kittyhoose
Sorry to hear about your dad, it is not easy when someone we love has cancer but it is very good to hear you are talking.
Good to hear how he is in decent health as that will put him in a better position in regard to the immunotherapy.
One thing I find quite helpful is looking at the pages here on your feelings when someone has cancer., being able to recognize the emotions and accept them as normal and valid can help make them less overwhelming. Posting on here can be a great way of helping us unload and that old line of a trouble shared can really ring true.
<<hugs>>
Steve
