My sister has been told today the op she is due to have is major risky, and if the surgeon can’t get it all it will be a matter of time? How do people cope? She’s the Rock of the family, and has been so strong thro them all.
Hi Rossy
Welcome to our community though sorry to hear about your sister, can I ask what sort of cancer she has.
When my wife was diagnosed she never wanted a prognosis and I really struggled with that. In her case though a prognosis would be a rea guess as her cancer is rare and even then nobody would have bet on the chemotherapy managing to put her cancer to sleep - 10 years and counting.
As for coping I ended up doing a living with less stress course that really helped me. Now I appreciate what we have rather than thinking how will I cope in all sorts of wild dreams of what the future might hold.
<<hugs>>
Steve
I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis. It must be really difficult seeing her go through this as the strong one.
Try to be there for her however, she needs - listen without judgment, fetch her favorite comforts, and offer hopeful messages.
Her strength has likely come from focusing on loved ones, so stay positive for her sake.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
