My mom has stage 4 lung cancer spread to the liver & bones. Unfortunately chemo is not right for her as she has so far been hospitalised for 10 days due to an extremely bad reaction to it. Her prognosis with chemo was a few months so can anyone tell me am I right in thinking without she will only have about a month?
Also, can cbd oil be used at this stage and what would it actually do?
Hi
Sorry to hear about your mom and the reaction to the chemo. For my wife the first chemo they tried had a rather unfortunate effect but once that was fixed they tried a more gentle treatment that did manage to stop the cancer from growing - 6 years and counting.
If I had to guess it would be likely the treatment will have had some effect on the cancer and so the initial prognosis will no longer be valid, however it is also worth noting that any prognosis is at best an educated guess. My wife never wanted to know and I really struggled with that but nobody could have guessed where we are now.
For the cbd oil question Macmillan have put together a guide here that might be helpful.
Hope that helps.
<<hugs>>
