My Hubby was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer nearly two years ago and put on Hormone therapy including Abiraterone, however the treatment is no longer effective, his muscles have disappeared and he's lost weight. He's had a Bone scan and C T scan, they have discovered Cancer deposits in his liver., waiting for a liver biopsy.  My emotions are all over the place, anger, fear, for him, loneliness. I'm trying really hard not to let him know how I feel but, it's so hard. I feel isolated

  • Hello

    I am so sorry to read your latest post. I can understand your worries and feelings as it's the "not knowing" what comes next.

    May I make some suggestions::

    * In a reply to a previous post my friend Derek ( suggested you post on the Prostate Group too. I see you have joined that group but not posted. There are plenty of wives/partners who regularly post on the group and i am sure if you posted there you will receive plenty of help and support from others in the same/similar situation.

    * Do you have a "Maggie's" at your hospital, or one near you. This is a cancer support charity where you can just call in, have a brew and chat about your husbands cancer and your feelings - they can help.

    * Have you thought about calling our Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week). The support line is for everyone affected by cancer and I am sure they will be able to help you.

    I hope the above helps - you are not alone and I am sure talking with others will help,

    Best wishes - Brian.
